Wellcaste
Wellcaste was established on skylands drifting amidst a cavernous waterhole with no visible floor. The buildings are made mostly of wood, with stonemasonry reserved for the foundations and skeleton of more important buildings. The dusty streets are wide open and salted seasonally to prevent local poisonous plants from growing.
Demographics
Wellcaste's population consists mainly of halflings, hill dwarves, wood elves, half elves, and humans.
Salt scraping, hunting, gathering, mining, and skiffing provide most of the town’s jobs.
Government
The town of Wellcaste is led by a council of elders who coordinate with representatives from the city of Shadekeep in order to ensure a mutually beneficial partnership for both settlements. The majority of goods produced in Wellcaste are shipped to Shadekeep in return for other necessary goods and protection. In the event of townwide emergencies, a small force of Shadekeep Peace Knights are on standby to assist the locals.
