Rivod mutilates Maxreni's son, Maelor, rendering him ineligible for the throne under the tradition that a claimant must be physically undamaged, seizing the throne. Maelor was given a silver hand and brass foot by the Korrigan, staging a rebellion before he was killed near Montroulez. Rivod, in turn is poisoned by Erich, who is ousted by Budig II and executed.

The Barony of Redon, Lordship of Mitaud Barony of Gwenrann joined forces against Dug Konan III "The Fat" and Church officials, burning abbeys and sacking cities between Naoned and Roazhon. Early in his reign, Konan lead a brutal counterattack, seizing the lands of the lords and forcing them to submit to his authority.
Attempting to shore up a rebellious Lower Letha, Konan seizes lands from the late Baron of Gwitreg, angering the heir. The baron calls upon the Marquise of Guerchais to his aid, bringing with him an army of Kornikaned. Konan III, in turn, seeks aid from Ker-Malastred and the Duchy of Anjev. The Ducal forces are ambushed by the Kornikaned, the Kunduerez of Ker-Malastred is captured before Anjevin forces arrive. Learning of the defeat, the Anjevin forces return to Angers, leaving Konan without allies. The battle was a stinging defeat for Konan III, marking the end of his power in the East.
