Campsite 1} Onyx, Irmano, and Ezrane
Onyx sighed, grabbing the rabbits he had caught and strapping them to the belt he had. The many excessive, leather pouches were getting a bit heavy at this point. It didn’t bother him, the boy had grown used to it.
He put his knife back in it’s small holster, then proceeded to sling his bow and quiver around his shoulder. Onyx blinked slowly, smelling the scent of what could possibly be fire.
Not something that occurred all too often. He and his cousin, Axel, would come around here all the time when he was little and not once had they come across that.
It could make for an interesting little discovery, though. Possibly a person was inhabiting this place? Or something?
Onyx brushed off his camo-themed hoodie and pants, his boots clunking just a bit as he began his walk towards the direction he thought was most probable.
The teen hopped from rock to rock and stone to stone, entertaining himself slightly as this went on. And when Onyx saw that there was a nice orange tint in the distance? Oh, he was pleased that he was correct.
“Hm,” the blond droned to himself as he slid down from a small mineral ledge and crouched down. Onyx may as well be sneaky? Well, he was slinking over to the nearest coverage, really hoping the fire’s light wouldn’t reflect off the metal of his tools and such through the foliage.
Irma kicked another stick lazily into the fire he'd started. He usually didn't bother with that sort of thing, but the smell of things burning was something he needed right now. Smoke and burning wood would get the smell of the furry out of his nose.
He wasn't sure if she was still lurking in the area, but just in case there were any more humans about, he didn't want to have to smell them either.
He should have known better than to relax his control in this new world. Humans loved the day, and where freaking everywhere. It was getting to him more and more he had no way to relax anymore. Maybe he really should go home...
Onyx carefully pulled his hood over his head, forcing down the small bit of anxiety that had dared to creep up.
He was about to try and move somewhere else when he was suddenly aware that he hadn’t turned his phone on silent. Shit.
cheekyMagician [CM] began pestering redCardinal [RC] at 00:02
CM: heya.
Oh my god, you dumbass. Onyx really wanted to tear his hair out by the roots at the moment. Of course the idiot decided “oh I’ll text Onyx right now because I totally don’t have better fucking things to do”.
How he wondered why he talked to the asshole.
RC: ohmygod its midnight why are you up
RC: you are literally going to get me killed
RC: are you going to be able to live with that capbell
CM: firstly, it’s capell.
CM: secondly, I could ask you the same question.
CM: why are you doing potentially fatal things at midnight, then, onyx?
CM: hm?

Onyx is a deadman. He was sure of it. You don’t just go and spy on some dude, that’s fucking creepy. God, what an idiot he was.
Irma heard at phone jingle and looked down at pants. He pulled his phone out of his pocket a bit to eagerly. It wasn't a ring he was used to, so he automatically thought it was Pix..
It wasn't until after he'd flipped through his messages before he realized how quickly he'd gone for it. 'Ug.. idiot.'
It was hanging out with her that got him into the mess he was in right then anyway, how stupid could one guy get?
It took him a few more moments to realize that if it wasn't his phone then it had to be someone elses. Gog just what he didn't need right then.. company.
"duudee fuuck oof iits my caamp" Better not be the furry again...
”I don’t recall ever seeing you before,” Onyx said loudly, thinking he may as well just announce his presence. “I’ve been in this forest time and time again and not once have I come across this camp.”
“Might you be new? Or-?” Onyx did his best to sound polite, though, it wasn’t exactly his strong suit. He always sounded “mean” and “rude” apparently. That’s what cheekyMagician had always told him, at least.
Did the absence of tone intimidate others? Possibly.
"fuuck thiis stuupiid fooreest maan" Irma cursed. He couldn't smell the stranger due to the fire, and he couldn't see them due to them being hidden. But he could hear them now, over the crackle of the fire, so he had a pretty good idea of where and what they were. "ii moovee aaroouund ookaay biitee mee."
”I don’t particularly want to bite you,” Onyx commented as he stepped out and curiously sat on the ground to get a full view of this Troll. Though, he masked the inquiry-filled shit with his usual straight expression.
“Do you not like this forest? I think it’s nice.”
The slouchy lanky troll looked like it had been through soem shit recently. His clothes were a mess, as was his unkept overly long hair.
"heeh heeh heeh noot aappeetiiziin huuh" Irma sighed and flopped unceremoniously into a sitting position, keeping the fire between himself and the new human.
"yeeaah iits fuullaa huumaans kiindaa suucks"
”We are an invasive species, are we not?” Onyx hummed, allowing some amusement into his voice. “Not that it’s anything new. We were doing it far before the whole Merge bullshit. Happened back on Earth, with the whole slowly killing the planet thing- you know.”
CM: what are you doing?
RC: fuck off im talking to someone
RC: fuck off im talking to someone
Irma rolled his eyes. "ii meeaan haard too bee iinvaasiivee iin aa woorld maadee oof paarts oof yoouurs oor whaateeveer thiis plaacee iis"
"iits juust iincoonviieent yoouu juust waalk uup oon peeooplee iin thee daark aand haavee aa chaat aall thee tiimee? kiindaa baad aas foor aa huumaan buut ii wiish yoouud fuuck oof aand sleep oor soomee shiit noot heeree thoouugh"
Onyx narrowed his eyes, “oh. Well, I can’t say that it’s safe for me to “fuck off”. Something could easily pounce on me.”
“I suppose I could be “bad ass” for a human, but, being bad ass requires at least a little intelligence. Wouldn’t you say so?”
CM: why are you talking to someone at this time of night, dude.
RC: shh

"uuuuuuhg duudee yoouur saafeer wiith theem thaan wiith mee aand ii caant teell iif yoouur liike preeteentiioouus oor whaat"
I prolly shoudn't be such an ass, he was feeling better than he before, but he still would rather relax than have to have some weak helpless human stinking up the place and tempting him into doing something he shouldn't.
"yoouu saayiing yoouur smaart oor yoouu saayiin yoouu aaiint aa baadaass?"
”Interpret it as you like,” Onyx shrugged. “Hey, it uh, kind of smells like dog?”
“Do you have a pet? My cousin has got a bird.” He crossed his legs, blankly staring at this stranger.
This troll didn’t seem to present themselves as friendly. Not that Onyx minded, he wasn’t all that Sunshine and cupcakes either. Actually, it was rare that he showed interest like this. In reality, Onyx was only invested in the conversation because he was contemplating how he hadn’t seen this guy before.
"naa thaat soouunds liikee woork iif yoouu doont teell mee ii giivee uup oon caariing" He shrugged and put his hands behind his head, mostly to keep them to himself, and laid back on them, his feet dangerously close to the fire.
"peet liikee aaniimaal yoouu keeeep aaroouund? naa maan thaat smeell iis proolly mee"
"uuh whaats aa doog?"
"uuh whaats aa doog?"
”A barkbeast,” Onyx quickly replied, rolling up his sleeves and sticking out his freckled hands to warm them. “So, I’m assuming your lusus is pretty laid back if you’re out this late?”
Where he got the knowledge of trolls? Well, if he was going to be living on a planet with them he has to have at least a little bit of knowledge of their culture and such. It would be a bit confusing if Onyx had wandered into this world blind, wouldn’t it?
"oomg duudee whaat aam ii aa wiigleer? iits liikee noormaal hoouurs maan shiit" what part of fuck off did this kid not understand?
"whaat aaboouut yoouu maan whoos noot whaatchiin yoouur duumb aass proopeerly?"
”My cousin won’t be back for a while. Another week or two at least. So, I’m on my own until he by some fucking miracle comes back.” He let a small bit of anger show through, feeling guilty almost immediately. He really admired his older cousin.
"fuuck maan" Irma grinned, enjoying the small anger spike from his unwelcome companion.
"ii doont reeaally giivee aa shiit ii waas juust aaskiing too bee aa diick heey coouuld yoouu tooss aanootheer stiick oon thee fiiree? yoouuree streesseen mee oouut wiith whaat yoouu goot oon yaa theeree"
Onyx glared, though, he calmly grabbed a thick stick and threw it into the small blaze. He watched the red blaze intently, the scene reflecting in his heterochromatic eyes.
His shoulders ached, fuck. Onyx itched at his back, his nose scrunched in a bit of pain. He couldn’t breath all too well either. Serves him right for not taking his binder off in days, he supposed. “Damn it.”
Irma smirked lazily, enjoying the glare.
"thaanks maan" He really was asking for trouble being relaxed enough to harass someone in person, especially when he really needed to get some sleep. "looook maan iif yoouuree tiireed goo hoomee aand sleeeep aand taakee yoouu deeaad shiit wiith yoouu"

”Piss off, man,” Onyx hissed, wrinkling his nose. “Funny to tease people, though, am I right? Like getting a reaction out of them?” He mumbled quietly, not intending for the other to hear.
"heey maan yoouur thee oonee iin my caamp wheeree aam ii guunaa goo?" Not that it was much of a camp, just a fire and some room to lay down around it.
Irma looked up at the sky, then closed his eyes. "yoouu caan coomee baack toomooroow iif yoouu waannaa haang oouut soo baad oor yoouu guunnaa waatch mee naap?"
”Would you be uncomfortable if I watched you sleep? Not that I would, but, I’ll leave if you’d feel more at ease without me.”
"heeh heeh heeh weeiirdoo" Irma chuckled.
"yeeaah yoouu maakee mee uuncoomfoortaablee buut ii meeaan loong aas thee fiirees gooiing ii doont caaree juust staay oon yoouur siidee."
”Oh,” Onyx messed up his blond, almost white hair and shrugged. “Oh, okay. Do you need a blanket or something? I, uh, have some stuff packed.” Something in the back of his mind screamed ”NEEEEEEERD”.
"meeh iid oonly loosee iit aanywaay" Humans were so strange, he couldn't tell if this guy was being nice or mocking him. Did he know this guy? He didn't think so. While a lot of humans did kinda look similar to him, Irma hadn't actually met many in person. At least not once he calmed down after The Merge
... shit hopefully he didn't know him from then...
... shit hopefully he didn't know him from then...
”Alright,” Onyx replied as he brought out a small, dark green blanket and covered himself with it. It was fuzzy and would be itchy if not for the clothes the teen had on. He brought out his phone again, seeing that “cheekyMagician” had messaged again.
CM: so youre going on dates and shit?
RC: what the fuck no
RC: i
CM: cmon man, i’m younger than you and i might have a relationship soon at some point.
RC: im not going to date some random guy i found that i know nothing about
RC: thats your thing not mine

"yoouu reeaally guunaa staay heeree maan?" He should prolly try and scare him off like he did the furry girl, but he just didn't have the energy for that. "whaateeveer juust doont waakee mee noo maatteer whaat"
”Alright,” Onyx continued to message the other person.
RC: whatever im going to sleep
CM: i thought you were in a potentially fatal situation.
RC: well yeah
RC: kinda but not as much
CM: so it’s still fatal?
RC: next question
CM: alright, don’t get pissy and complain to me later, though.

“Night.”
Later, the moons were high and obscured by cloud cover. It was about as dark as it could be, at night. And there was a certain troll walking around, a barefoot tealblood, scouting out the terrain. There was also a fire in the near distance, running low, which she was immediately attracted to. Campers. There were always campers. So she approached, as quietly as she could, to observe. Ezrane was on the scene.[/container]
Irma hadn't moved at all since falling asleep, flat on his back with his hands behind his head as a pillow. He wasn't having the most restful of sleep, but it was better than nothing.
The the lower the fire got the harder a time he was having staying asleep.
Yeah, he’s just fuckin’ asleep. That’s so lit, like, it’s awesome.
Anyways, currently he was deeply in a slumber. Onyx had always slept heavily, and even his cousin had difficulty waking him most days. Once he was out, he was out.
Who was decidedly not out? Ezrane. She crept out into the clearing, illuminated by nothing but the smoldering embers, to evaluate the situation.A human, a troll. A troll? Oh, some jadeblood. That would at least half-explain why they'd be asleep at night, and everyone knew humans were just weird like that. Both of them asleep, all the way out here. She wondered why. Maybe they were on the run, too! That was practically the best case scenario, as far as she was concerned.[/container]
With the fire down, his hearing healed from the bar, and yet another person so close, Irma couldn't stay asleep any longer. He opened one eye and sighed seeing yet another stranger wondering into his camp.
It was his own fault for not taking the time to hide his location or make it hard to get to. He'd just seen a clear spot and made a fire like a dumbass.
"duudee iif yoouuree guunaa bee aa sleeeep vooyeeuur leeaast yoouu caan doo iis aadd too thee fiiree"
Onyx continued to sleep, curling up more into a ball and fixing the cloth that lay very loosely over him. He made what sounded like a tiny grumble as he rolled over on his other side and facing outward towards the trees.
He never really dreamt, it was always just a black “screen” and what was a few hours felt like minutes. That was normal, though, he probably wasn’t the only one.
Ezrane jumped slightly, before turning to Irmano with a hiss. What was it with trolls and hissing? They weren't cats or anything. "You'r eawak e." A very simple statement, since she'd been taken by surprise. No time to rehearse a speech, no time to think of something quick-- she'd never been the best at that. "Who' sthe hu man ?"[/container]
"duunnoo maan woondeereed iin juust liikee yoouu buut doont liikee fuuck wiith hiim ii doont waanaa haavee too huurt aanyoonee"
Irma didn't sit up or do anything threatening, other than open his other eye as well.
"yoouu juust guunaa aask quueestiioons oor yoouu guunaa geet too thaat fiiree? ii aant ruuniin aa freeee shoow heeree goottaa woork foor yoouur peeeek"
Onyx was, in fact, snoring now. Hell, he was having a good time looking at the empty as hell space before his closed eyelids. The most entertaining bullshit he’d seen all day. Er, night.
While he was doing that, Onyx would occasionally just mumble out random things. Sounds, and sometimes even words. It was just a thing he did, especially when he was knocked out entirely like this.
He was always embarrassed by it, though, so somewhere in his mind he was probably pleading that no one would wake him up just to point it out.
Well, that human was sure out. Might as well oblige the jadeblood, it was better than getting chased away or anything. She wasn't looking for trouble yet, either. Looking around for the expected pile of dry wood, she tossed a few smaller sticks onto the embers. After all, to build a fire up again, you have to start out small. "Wh atdo y ou meany oudo n'tkno w him ? You'r epract ical lyshar ingthiss pot."[/container]
If there were any sticks they were there by chance or Onyx had brought them when he'd been annoyed into stoking the fire.
"hee woouuldnt taakee aa hiint aan leeaavee whaat doo yoouu waant froom mee? chaasiing hiim woouuld bee waay too muuch eeffoort leeaast hee aaiint puukeeing oon mee"
Irma closed his eyes again and focused on not moving an inch
"hee woouuldnt taakee aa hiint aan leeaavee whaat doo yoouu waant froom mee? chaasiing hiim woouuld bee waay too muuch eeffoort leeaast hee aaiint puukeeing oon mee"
Irma closed his eyes again and focused on not moving an inch
Onyx was still snoring, to say the least. He may as well announce his presence to the planet and attract all of the dangerous things that may be lurking about.
The jadeblood seemed dedicated to sleeping. And Ezrane hadn't really met too many humans, she was still working on how valuable of an asset they would be. She weighed her options for exactly no time at all, and walked on over to kick the human where he slept. "H ey. Wa k eup ."
That's one way to attract a dangerous thing, though the actual Ezrane herself was debatably dangerous.[/container]
"duudee iif yoouu maakee hiim bleeeed weeree guunaa haavee aa baad tiimee" Irma grumbled in annoyance. "iif yoouur guunaa doo thaat shiit doo iit aawaay froom mee"
Onyx flinched, scrambling awake and glaring at the area above him. He scoffed and rolled his eyes when he saw that someone else had come. He wouldn’t have minded at all if they didn’t kick him.
He groaned, rubbing his eyes and sniffling just a little bit with a tiny yawn. “I don’t mean to be rude, but, can’t I sleep without you jabbing me?”
"So yo u're notd ead," Ezrane observed, with all the confidence of a private investigator cracking a 15-year-old cold case. "Th ought may bet his guy'dk ill edyo u." Everyone seemed remarkably chill about this entire situation, though that could be because two of the party members had been asleep moments prior.[/container]
"yeep ii kiilleed hiim aalriight yoouu caan teell froom blaankeet aand thee snooriing" Irma added in, just to be an ass.
"buut seeriioouusly iif yoouur guunaa kiil hiim yoouurseelf doo iit aawaay froom mee"
”Being killed doesn’t sound,” he paused. “Desirable.” Onyx sighed, rubbing his arm softly.
“I’d prefer if you didn’t,” and he said this with the most calm voice possible, quite different from how he spoke just a few seconds or moments ago. Hey, he doesn’t keep track of the time.
She waved away Irmano's comments, with "Ye ah,ye ah,wiseguy ,I seeth at now. Wou ldn'tp utit pasta trollth ough, youkn ow howth eyg et." She peered down at Onyx, sizing him up. "I'mno ther etok ill you,I'd 'ved one thatiny ours leep."[/container]
"yeeaah maan ii geet yaa" He didn't seem to take any offence to the insinuation. It was true enough, and if it wasn't he wouldn't be putting so much effort into doing nothing.
"doont waannaa geet iintoo thaat soortaa meess thoouugh tryiinaa cuut baack heeh heeh heeh"
”That’s awfully comforting,” Onyx mumbled, grabbing out a random coin out of his pocket and flipping it a few times to occupy himself.
“Anyways, might there be a reason as to why you’re out here?” He asked. Not that Onyx could talk, he was pretty much here just to be here.
Also, he noticed just how talkative he’d been. With Onyx’s last encounter, he barely said a word. It’s funny, how his social energy fluctuates so drastically.
Ezrane struck a pose, pointing to herself. "List enhe re, hum an! I'mout here fin ding rec ruits, andca meacrosst his cam p ." She tilted her head towards the jadeblood. "Ido n'tkn ow thisgu y,ei ther." She turned to him. "How'b out you,in teres ted?"
She had completely omitted to talk about what she was recruiting for.[/container]
"reecruuiit.. peeooplee oony reecruuiit foor stuuff wheen iits woork soo noo thaanks ii doont doo thaat woork thiing"
Irma closed his eyes again, glad the fire was picking up again. Unless she planned to drag him somewhere she was sol on getting his help.
Irma closed his eyes again, glad the fire was picking up again. Unless she planned to drag him somewhere she was sol on getting his help.
Onyx didn’t really say anything, he just continued to mess with his coin. Maybe it was time to shut up? That is, unless someone says something absolutely stupid.
He blinked blankly at the fire, sending an occasional glance in Ezrane’s and Irmano’s directions.
Ezrane kicked him again. "He y.Hum an. Y ouca n'tig noreme, whi leI'mt alking toy oudirect ly . Wan nahe arab out it,orn ot ?" What was this guy's deal? She didn't care too much for the jadeblood, however useful he would be, but she did need a read on humans.[/container]
Irma chuckled at hearing her kick him again.
"caareefuull maan huumaans aaree deeliicaatee"
”Go ahead, I’m listening.”
He was not.
She grinned, and went for Onyx's wrist, to drag him up to his feet. On a scale of 1 to 20, you could imagine she'd gotten, say, a 19. "Youm ight wan tocom ewithm ethen ." That was a lie, she didn't need him to follow her at all.[/container]
He was not.
”Ohp-“ Onyx blinked numerous times, processing this for a few seconds. “Alright then, I guess this is happening.”
He gave Irmano a puzzled expression, as though he were asking for an explanation. Though, he couldn’t quite tell if the other had his eyes open or not.
"laateer maan try noot too diiee heeh heeh heeh" Irma assumed she'd be hauling the human off considering what she said. He didn't really care that much, but he'd spent time with the guy and was a sucker for getting attached to people too fast if he was around them in person login enough. All that focusing on trying not to notice someone made them stay in his head longer, or something.
Sure, the troll seemed alright enough, not the type to blab, and the human sure wasn't resisting. Holding onto his wrist with her free hand-- in fact, her only hand-- she set to dragging him off into the woods, so she could explain the entire mission she was on. She mainly hoped he wasn't some kind of shill, that would be a shame. Though she hadn't seen too much human blood before, maybe it really was all red? That sounded impossible, though.[/container]
