And so that the sun would never be lonely, Elune created for it a mate that would reflect its light throughout the darkness. Just as she cared for the creatures that Ela’don could not, so too did her light cover the creatures that the sun could not. - The Tomes
Once upon an age the night was dark, and beings of the dark were all evil and dark beings. Then Elune took control of the night sky, showing compassion and care to the creatures of the night, so that they too were loved. She is made particularly famous for her creation of the Night Elves (more commonly referred to as Drow) and held them up as proof that creatures of the night were not evil. However, when her creatures proved to often have dark hearts, Elune was so depressed that her heart broke into four pieces, and the moon along with it. Now the moons are watched by her daughters: Bella, Amina, Mica, and Vivian.
