The Proving is a ruined space station discovered hovering in the
Hodeth Belt by Hhrot engineer
Karuuk. Its orbit was changed to fall into the L5 point trailing
Planetfall , where it would remain indefinitely. The Proving serves as an arena for aspiring Hhrot warriors. It also serves as a Dominion hub for
Hodeth Belt mining operations.
Despite the isolationist stance expressed by Dominion leadership, the Proving sees cooperation between
Hhrot and
Boshaari scientists. The joint operation seeks to use the station as a launching point into the uncharted Rust Clouds that hover in the far depths of the Elpis system. The Dominion tolerates the presence of
Express Courier Services facilities, who use the arena for breakneck air races and as a gathering ground.
The Proving is thus a surprisingly cosmopolitan station, where Hhrot wishing to do business with the wider Elpis system often gather.
