Patrina
Though she was born in the Valley, Patrina was ejected quickly for her ambitions. She wasn't even a full adult when she woke up outside the Valley. She made no attempts to return, too delighted by the concept of finding greater power and knowledge in the world outside. She went first to the home of her ancestors.
It wasn't long after she left the valley that Patrina would return. While she was pilfering the desecrated libraries of her people, she was approached by a questing Strahd and Rahadin. She helped them look through the library, and when that turned up nothing, told them of the place she had been born in, where no curse or pain lasted for long.
From the beginning, Patrina was taken with Strahd. She attempted to seduce him, but his attention was understandably elsewhere. As soon as it seemed his curse might be a non-issue, however, his attention was taken with Tatyana. Disillusioned, Patrina returned dejected to her family.
When news of Tatyana's death (and Strahd's undeath) reached the elven commune, Patrina saw her chance. She returned to Strahd, who was more receptive now to her advances. Before their connection could be consummated, her family killed her and drained her body of all blood to deny Strahd his prize. Strahd and Rahadin retrieved her body, and she was entombed below Castle Ravenloft. After several weeks, she rose as a banshee, unable to rest until she is wed to Strahd, which is he unwilling to do in her current state.
