Fevaria Station

Fevaria Station is the capital of the Republic of Fevaria and center of Kenjodan culture in the galaxy. In addition to housing over 17.8 Billion people, Fevaria Station acts somewhat as a massive armored battleship capable of immense defensive capabilities, some of which are yet unknown to the public at large.

The Station itself is somewhat disc-shaped and about 27 miles in diameter, with a large ring suspended around the outside known as the Bastion Ring, lined with defensive weapons and shield generators. The main inhabited portions of the station are known as the Outer Sector, Inner Sector, and Core Sector, with each having its own primary function.

Demographics

As a capital city, the station is home to a wide array of various alien species, in fact no other system in Fevaria holds more diversity in its population. Kenjodan naturally make up the station's largest demographic, with 81% or roughly 14.4 billion citizens being Kenjodan. Following this majority is a sizeable community of Halflings, making up 9% or 1.6 billion citizens of the station's population, followed by Humans, Saathids, and Androids, with small scatterings of most other species making up the remainder.
With such diversity in species composition, the wealth distribution is similarly well spread out at least for a regulated market economy. Between the Pylons district and the Lower Levels, a healthy bastion of middle class areas call Fevaria Station home, and upward mobility is reasonably accessible to members of the lower class. Much of this 'equal economic opportunity' is said to be due to the nation's slight increase in communalistic ideals since the First T'Kiri-Fevarian War and subsequent desire to see prosperity so that the Fevarian military can be set up with its best foot forward from a logistics standpoint.

Government

Power on the station is split between the democratically elected Governor and the Fevarian Armed Forces, with internal and economic affairs being left to the Governor's administration, while matters related to defense and the station's military readiness are commanded by the military. Such a dual power structure has led to some squabbles in the past, and while frustrating for some citizens, military experts are still able to place Fevaria Station as one of the most defensible positions in the galaxy to this day.

Defences

"Behind every hull panel lies a weapon, and behind every weapon lies a Kenjodan far more confident about their survival than yours." - Prime Warlord Ki'Rav of the Tuvak Dominion, on the topic of Fevaria Station.

The number of small arms stockpiled on the station is unknown, but the best estimates place the number at over 50 billion. Such a huge amount of arms means that even if every single citizen of the station was outfitted with two rifles, there would still be over 14 billion weapons remaining. All of the many veterans within the Fevarian population retain the right to bear their own private firearms after re-entering civilian life, and such large volumes of veterans mean that an organized militia could potentially be a force more fearsome than some low-ranked enemy units, and a variable incalculable in the enemy's strategy.
Beyond small arms, defense against enemy fleets is also a key role of Fevaria Station's defenses. At the current time of writing, 228 heavy starship-grade weapons are active on the hull of Fevaria Station, with a further 40 weapons exceeding the class of heavy weapons and classifying as capital-tier weapons. If that was not enough, the station even has presumed defensive capabilities not even known to the public. The sheer amount of starship turrets on this station generates enormous demand for power and massive amounts of waste heat, necessitating several reactors, auxilliary reactors, and reactor sub-stations, as well as high powered arrays of radiators.

Infrastructure

Walking through the entire station on foot is done by some- but such a thing requires time investments that seem pointless when a much better alternative exists. For logistical reasons, highway systems and private car ownership is banned on the station in favor of a massive network of 'trains' for lack of a better term, capable of high speeds and large volumes of transport for both goods and people over the entire length of the station. Indeed, it is possible using the metro network to go from opposing sides of the station in less than 15 minutes.
While quick for daily life, a potential defensive risk remains from the metro system, and so hardwired into the station's defensive mainframe is the ability to shut down entire sections of the network, and any enemy attempts to hack into it are theoretically impossible. Though defenses are an important facet of the station (and sometimes classified, this GMNN reporter finds) the act of repairs and transport are still necessary during peacetime. The ingenious suggestion of Grand Admiral Vivai Jecen and military researchers, a system of rails spread along the top of nearly every corridor in the station, allowing robotic arms and carriages of materials to be shuttled to areas needing construction or reinforcement, allowing a technician to oversee such operations with ease. Fevaria Station's network of infrastructure is the envy of many governors throughout the galaxy, despite its potential shortcomings.

Districts

Bastion Ring
Extending out several miles from the body of the main station, the Bastion ring is the capital's first defensive layer. Its primary arms consist of an array of laser nets for point-defense coverage, and EMP cannons to disable enemy vessels, allowing the station's heavy artillery to pick them off or for a naval counterattack to take advantage. The Bastion Ring contains many classified systems, and so this is largely speculation, but Yarmorian officials have indicated that wide-beam signal jammers, navigation system scramblers, and cutting-edge scanning systems may all be a part of the Bastion Ring's capabilities. What is known, is that shield generator substations line the edge of the ring, and extend Fevaria Station's energy shields by a significant margin.

Outer Sector
The station's outer sector mainly houses areas for residental, defense, and commercial applications, and makes up the large disk-shape that Fevaria Station is known for.

Inner Sector
Sometimes called the 'Industrial Sector', this area is the station's primary production hub and houses both a series of massive docking bays for incoming vessels, and gargantuan shipyards to assemble new military and civilian vessels at a high rate, even during an active engagement. Many substations for utilities such as water and power also are built in the Inner Sector.

Core Sector
The largest section, the Core Sector houses the largest fraction of the station's population and houses many of its core systems, including the headquarters for Fevarian high command and the President's office. No part of the station is more saturated with external starship-grade weapons and internal security stations to ensure maximum safety for the local citizens. In the very center, 3 large bunkers are built to house the station's civilian population during an engagement with enemy forces. Regular drills are carried out to get the population used to the idea of hastily heading to the bunkers if Fevaria Station ever comes under fire.
