Ring of Obfuscation
The Ring of Obfuscation contains the essence of and a link to the elemental Darknes. As the world was created, a little of its key elements were left over and forged into the elemental rings. The Shade was forged into the Ring of Obfuscation. The ring seems to draw shadows toward it.
This ring was first borne by the General of Oloch, Cherog. Following The War of the Energies and the sequestration of the Rings, the Ring of Obfuscation was hidden in the Temple of Balanced Energies in Ornblake, with the Ring of Illumination. However, it was later removed and eventually found its way into the ownership of Kandarert, a warrior fighting in an early territorial despute before the Unification of Ebrion. Gifted it following a pact with Oloch, Kandarert became increasingly depraved, preying on friend and foe indescriminately. Slowly becoming an Undead Wight, he was eventually trapped and sealed in a tomb, following an unlikely pact with a nomadic band of Woodelves (who later founded Daenor to guard this tomb.
The Thanes of Order later found the Ring of Obfuscation in the Tomb of Kandarert. Upon attuning to the Ring, Jed discovered Kandarert's soul within, and spoke with him before it passed on.
