Session 17: Big Trouble in Little Vaeheor
General Summary
Baron Vorn Telond seeing the Great White Wyrm, Ophelias fall to the ground, and Aliñar Daeran eat her heart, he announced over the loudspeakers "Well well well, for a second year in a row, The Wild Cards prove to be INTERESTING folks!" The crowd roars, most never having seen a dragon so large, and having heard of the destruction wrought by dragons in Hobart Bay.

Aliñar is quick to leave, thinking she killed Vumrorah, The Ashen Queen, the consort of Chieftain King Malik. On her way out, she is stopped by one of the tourney organizers.
"Are you here to collect your winnings?" the woman asks.
"Uh...yes, YES! That's why I'm here," says Ali holding out her hand.
She collects a hefty pouch, with 2000 gold pieces inside. Ali heads off to the market, buying a decanter of endless water.
Wiliman goes off to find a smithy, looking to fashion a knife from the ancient dragon's fang. @Brag, the former strongman of the Harker-Zuulan Cavalcade of Curiosities, was the blacksmith in the shop.
Pitri realizes that Ali has slunk off without saying good bye. Worried, he attempts to find her, using his natural Kobold senses to track his friend. He takes off flying, and finally spies her. Attempting to swoop down and close the gap, she tests out her new decanter of endless water, speaking the command word "Geyser." A blast of water shoots out at him, knocking him back. After four rounds of him trying to fly to her and being knocked back, she finally relents and he flies close by and delivers a sealed envelope.
Krusk went to the Tannis Temple of Luminara and received a vision from Luminara, the Everflame. He felt a warmth, bright sunlight and suddenly he was back on Atiu Beach as a child. The warm breeze blows past his scales. Suddenly, he is transported upwards, higher and higher, but feels completely calm. The island comes into full view, then the archipelago, then Hokai, then nearby Vaeheor. Finally, he can see all of Archeron encased in a greenish, translucent bubble and its three moons, as well as its sun. As he drift
Pitri does the same, giving letters to the rest of the Wild Cards, though it took him some effort to locate Leif Arrowsken who was hanging around the local branch of the Thieves Guild.
The letter read:
"Deer honored member of the Wild Cards,
You are envited to an xclusive dinner at the esteemd establishent nown as the Airey. Pleese arrie between the ours of 1745 and 1800 for a meel in your honor.
I await your presents with baited breth.
Love, Pitri."
Soon, close to six o'clock in the evening, the group members meet at the The Eyrie and are greeted by Pitri, Manny and Godfrey dressed in their finest clothes.
They bring out dishes, Godfrey kills the lights, and at Pitri's request, Krusk cast light on the center dish.
Pitri hops up on the table.
"Friends! Welcome, it has been a year since I escaped. I was tortured by scientists, stripped of my pack.
Will, you sure know how to stretch a bathroom break.
Ali, you carried me in your mouth as a wolf. I watched you rip hags in half as a squid. You're unstoppable.
Krusk, you taught me that not all gods are evil. Draconis is horrible and doesn't care about his followers, but Luminara is kind, and warm, and you are as well.
Leif, your schemes always work out!
Deja, your wisdom and courage inspire me. You are always ready to fight for US.
Alexander, your quick wit and inventiveness.
Friends, this isn't just an anniversary dinner, but an apology dinner. Earlier today, I acted selfishly. I preferred benefiting myself, and rashly took upon myself what should have been a group decision. "
Lifting the center dish's cover, he reveals a gleaming crystal. It is the arcane crystal from Ophelias.
He continued, "I don't know if we need this for Aliñar to prove that she slew a dragon or for Alexander to make an incredible invention, but this is something WE should decide, not just me.
But first, LET'S FEAST!"
First, Wiliman opens his dish, steak and potatoes, with a lute char-grilled into the steak. Whatever sauce was used for the meal continued a synesthesia potion. Wiliman starts seeing a glow on everyone, and he is glowing a bright white.
Next, Leif's dish is revealed, inside is a smaller treasure chest. It was booby trapped, but of course, Leif dodges out of the way. Barbeque sauce shoots upward, into where Leif's face would have been. It contains Pulled Owlbear Mac and Cheese.
Alexander gets a burrito that looks Fritz, surrounded by nachos.
Krusk, gets a flute and vegetable platter that has been constructed to look like a Horizonback. The shell is made of a carved watermelon, looking like scales, and has flowers for legs. A apple cabbage coleslaw is stuffed inside the watermelon.
Finally, Aliñar gets her meal, a raw king crab and raw steak.
Pitri eats a from a small tray, with little bits of everyone's meal inside.
Pitri raises a glass, "Enjoy your meal friends! We killed the The Ashen Queen, huzzah?!"
Alexander responds quietly, "We didn't kill the Ashen Queen, we killed a white dragon."
"Yeah," Ali interjects. "The Ashen Queen is a big, white dragon."
"Yes, but the Ashen Queen is a white, FIRE dragon. She's technically an albino red dragon, not a white dragon."
"Well there was some rumor and accusation that our king was married to the Ashen Queen, so I don't care about this other dragon now. I thought I was killing some bitch masquerading as a human to get close to my king."
Wiliman interjects, "Well then it sounds like we need to kill another dragon. Do you think your people would help if they find out their queen was a dragon?"
Aliñar responds, "I'll be king, so yeah."
The group quickly devolved into discussing killing their next dragon, or possibly going after more CARDS.
The group, after enjoying their meal, discusses what they should. Krusk reaches out to VIZIER to ask what to do.
"Vizier, which CARD should we take out next? Also, we slew Ophilias. Are the Wyrms connected with Belatora and the Cards? Ideas? Where are you?"
"We're still in Skrim. Elder Dragons are SUPPOSED to stay neutral, but not impossible. Maybe seek out a metallic Wyrm? Talons seen in Sabbat Collective, " replies VIZIER.
The group decides to wait until morning, visit the Baron, let Wiliman collect his knife and to let Alexander finish crafting his dragon mail.
During the night, Krusk is revisited by the same vision, but this time he sees whited out eyes by the figure that clutches the world.
In the morning, they set out after breakfast. On the way their, they sawArgyle coming out of one of the homes near the Noble District, he looked packed for a long journey with an overstuffed rucksack on his back. He sees the group and greets them.
"Hello all! You've inspired me to do more with my life then stand around on guard."
"That's great to hear!" says Wiliman, "where are you going?"
"Well to be honest, I don't have a destination in mind. I'm going to try find some adventurers to travel with."
"Nonsense! You'll come with us," Wiliman says.
Argyle demurred at first, not wanting to hold back the group, but all of the adventurers insist. Ali gives him a magic staff, and Krusk anoints him as the Keeper of Cabbages, and unloads a 50 pound sack of cabbages onto Argyle's shoulders.
Argyle says he will wait on the group to return from the Baron's Castle, and finish gathering his things.
As the group nears the keep, they are greeted by the Captain of the Guard. He relates that a messenger from the West, though he knew not where specifically, arrived this morning. Since yesterday evening, the Baron has been in a frightful and pensive mood. After the messenger arrived, the Baron dismissed all the servants for the day.
Baron Vorn Telond says that Gravelfist Keep and Rocktable Hall are in ruins and that the Great Walls have been broken.
Wiliman ask if there is any news from @Clearwater. The Baron says that Lady Adelaide of Marshbriar and Lord Harper Bigsby of Fell Brook are enroute to Tannis. Lady Adelaide has sent word to the Pantano and Chief Girar Darean.
The Baron further relates that the attackers on the twin forts were not just Orcs, but also Skaven, and horrible abominations. He says that he is attempting to forge a coalition of nations to combat the Empire of Belatora. He's doubtful that the nations of Mur will be able to offer aid, as they are too busy squabbling amongst themselves.
The group offers whatever assistance they can in convincing the Lords of Mur to help. Krusk asks if the Baron can communicate via the sending spell, the Baron responds he can cast a Sending spell. The group leaves, wishing him the best of luck.
The group goes on to buy Ring of Evasion, an Oathbow, Dragon Slayer (longsword), Frostbrand (scimitar), and Staff of Frost.
Before they plan to leave, Krusk sends a couple messages, the first to Wiliman's Mother:
"Your son and friends is safe. The end times draw close, orcs are back, Vaeheor unsafe. We pray you’re safe. Wiliman say, 'Love you mom'”
"Made it home. Tell Will his father and Marta are safe. Church taking in refugees from Tarn Valley. I'll be traveling to Fellbrook to help"
Krusk sends again"
Careful, enemies everywhere. Can't lose you again. Wild Cards working on plan. Sending help. If anything happens to me I'm glad I got you back."
The second to JESTER:
"Jester, the world is at war. Your help is required to kill TALONS and to convince the Lords of Mur to help....OR ELSE"
Soon JESTER arrives via teleportation circle, and takes the group to the Yun Monastery where they had left R'kir Dravon and Saphie so long ago...
