Nightmare Dunes
Tainted by the corruption of The Changer of Ways, the Nightmare Dunes are an everchanging desert that exists on a tore leyline that is a thin fabric between Ardicil and the far planes. Creatures from the Astral Plane, the Abyss, Limbo and many other dimensions bleed into the material plane here.
To make this all the worse, it is not clear what plane and when it will appear, and time can also be warped by these incursions from within. The only thing that is not random in the dunes is the physical location itself. The Illuminated Assembly keeps meticulous records of the boundries of this incursion, and it has not expanded nor retreated at all since the inception of their records.
What comes with danger and peril, also can mean massive reward and treasure to those willing to dare the horrors of the dunes. It is rumored that the Beast King in Anatar rose to power with artifacts from the lands within.
