Ruins of Karak
During the war of wrath, the Dwarven kingdom of Karak fell to ruin when it was attacked by an army of devils led by a handful of chromatic dragons. The dwarves held for as long as they could, but were eventually overwhelmed. In a last ditch effort, the dwarves caved in the mines and released a great monster that had been trapped in the rock for thousands of years.
Some recent rumors, spread by those claiming to have visited the ruins as of 100 years ago, state that all hear the beat of dwarven drums once more, coming from the deep. Goblins have been seen scrambling from the ruins in droves, and scholars from both the Illuminated Assembly and Anklegnaw were dispatched to investigate. Both came back, discussing the rise of Druergar from the underdark, seeking to reclaim their ancestors lands. They also speak of an alliance, between the dwarves of the deep and the united tribes under Norsca. Great hell engines have been seen spewing from the Dragon Peaks on their way south towards the Everchosen in Northumbre.
