Havlic Polytheism

Havlic polytheism is a catch-all term for the traditional religious practice of Neo-Havlians. It is derived from the ancient Ossienic faith in the same vein as other traditional Havlean religions such as Tedrism.   While the forms of Havlic polytheism practiced on the Havlic Peninsula, in Tsedria, in Sondamia, etc. Are all unique in their own ways, they have a common origin and thus share many similarities. In all forms the gods are organized into categories of High Gods/Primordial Gods and Lesser Deities, the family tree of the Primordial Gods is almost identical across all forms, albeit with different names for each God. The creation myth is also practically identical.

Mythology & Lore

The universe was birthed from Chaos (Old Havlic: stɔ́vameus), in this primordial universe was nothing but the Elements and the eight Primordial Gods (Old Havlic: Vizmɔ̀seus; pl.: Vizmɔ̀seni). These Primordials worked together to create the Realm of Heaven (Old Havlic Hisénukkis Lɛ̃iora) where all the Gods would reside, at the head of this realm was the Divine Council ruled by four of the Primordials: Latameus, Onnixureus, Metoreus, and Koreus, each of these Gods was given reign over a specific aspect of the Realm. Latameus and Onnixureus commanded the skies and Metoreus and Koreus commanded the lands and seas. They each created people to live in their realm, known as the Divine Kin (Old Havlic: Hísiɛ or Hísiɛ Jéro; pl.: Hísiɛni Jéron).   The other four Primordials: Oukeus, Ktomureus, Jogisneus, and Petrakeus, felt cheated. They were of the same cloth as the council and even helped create the Realm but were given nothing to show for it. A civil war broke out between them known as the War in Heaven. Each God created warriors to incessantly fight for their will. For centuries this feud would last until eventually the pristine Realm of Heaven was left a ravaged wasteland. A compromise was reached, the council would remain in power in the Realm of Heaven but in return a new Realm would be created in which each God would reign equally. This realm is our world, Areonis.   The Primordials had many children during the creation of Areonis who are sometimes classified as Minor Gods (Old Havlic: Jésileus; pl.: Jésileni) or Terrestrial Gods (Old Havlic: Jéus Kiórripseus; pl.: Jéni Kiórripseni). Latameus and Onnixureus had six children: the twin sons Stedzimeus and Ixomeus, the son Knovokeus, the daughters Hafekoneus, Uthileus, and finally Ptesioxeus. Metoreus and Koreus had five children: the sons Ravoxeus, Endirteneus and Ujuzeus, and the daughters Episteus and Isezideus.
