Unity
Founded centuries ago in the wake of the fall of Omen'an, Unity found it's political niche as a pacifistic monarchy centered around compassion, generosity, and love. With the guidance of a chosen of Akari, and a devout acolyte of Oniron, the people of Omen'an and surrounding kingdoms banded together to hold back the fiendish in the distance and found a home. With a culture and government that remains strictly pacifistic, Unity has lasted longer than any other political power would have predicted.
The people of Unity use the kingdom backed Rose as their primary currency, with a single Rose broken down into 100 Petals. The Rose is a flower shaped mithril coin about an inch wide and paper thin, while the Petal is a similar mithril alloy of about half the size. Each coin is hand crafted and unique to the original recipient, with each coin representing a real flower and matching it's shape and pattern, causing collectors go crazy over sets of similar breeds. The size of these coins allows them to be transported via letter, making equal distribution much easier.
One of the largest landmarks in southern Sedden is The Wretched Scar, a massive fissure spanning across the land. This scar was created as a gift from the gods, during one of the first battles with the fiends of Omen'an to protect the newly staked lands of Unity. The border holds strong till this day, and protects not only unity but anything west of the wretched lands.
Law and Enforcement
The laws are written by the the king and his council, his right hand man and economic advisor Vander Aerr, and his queen Syllaea Lightbloom. The group takes constant council with the populace to keep them up to date and informed of any changes that may come their way up to years in advance, with the help of Syllaea's incredible foresight, it's possible for the trio to write laws to solve problems before they even exist. Without exception, all violence is prohibited, even among law enforcement. Similarly, traditional weapons must be stowed and bound in some way. Swords must be tied to the scabbard, axes to their frogs, bows must be unstrung, etc. Firearms are simply entirely forbidden, and are in no way allowed across the border. Magic is regulated in a similar way, with arcane foci not being legal to carry without a license detailing your reasons for using and what spells you may cast. It's not hard to get one of these licenses, especially for simple spells that simple make life easier, but it's necessary to avoid accident. The laws are handled by an organization called the United Shield. These warriors must take oaths of pacifism upon being enlisted, and perform one of the most important roles in a society such as this one. Their role is to handle criminals and enemies of the kingdom in a peaceful way, resolving issues without violence. Each and every one of them is trained in non-combative ways of solving problems and handling the unruly or aggressive. Every Unitian citizen is marked by a priest with a Mark of Protection, and every Unitian Shield is taught to respond to those marks. When a person with a mark is attacked or about to be harmed within ten miles of a Shield, the guardian can respond as a reaction to immediately vanish from their current position and appear at the endangered persons location and intercept the harm. Multiple Shields can do this at once, and in doing so share what pain the citizen would have endured. Visitors are also given these marks, should they enter the borders legally, though their marks are temporary and vanish upon leaving the borders.Structure
Unity, is a socialist monarchy with no standing military built on little natural resource, though since it's founding over two hundred years ago it's ruler has yet to change. All officials are appointed by the king himself, but he has a trusted council who assists him with that sort of thing.
Culture
The people of Unity are a mishmash of culture from all over Sedden. Unity accepts any who need safety and security, and feeds and pays it's people equally. It's population consists of refugees from Auburn, escapees from Omen'an, and many others from across the world. Unity is accepting of all religions, cultures, and traditions so long as they do not encourage or involve violence.
Public Agenda
Unity's goal since it's founding has been to create a world power strong enough to house those in need and protect them and their kin. The kingdom was founded during the original fall of Omen'an, with it's original population making up the original settlers of the city now known as Lightbloom.
Assets
The kingdom of Unity has one of the most efficient work forces in all of Sedden, with the highest approval rating and the lowest crime rate of any other nation in the region. This means they have a stockpile of harvested resources like lumber, food, ore, and so on that keep them ahead of the economic curve.
Territories
Taking up an area of land that once was owned by the now fallen tiefling kingdom of Omen'an, Unity sits on a graveyard of innocent lives lost to pointless violence. Omen'an was once a strong and noble nation, with a happy people and the respect of all of Sedden, until their emperor began to toy with wretched magic. In time, him and his generals quickly became corrupted, and his people began to turn against him. The wretched magic seeped from their arcane laboratories in their central cities, and caused the people to spur into riots and rebellion. Unity was founded in the wake of this, as Kima and Syllaea took stand on the eastern front and rallied up the strong and courageous from all across Sedden to stand and protect the innocent people of Luciar (Now called Lightbloom) from their tainted leaders. It is upon this land that Unity lays claim, and they don't plan to expand any time soon.
Military
Unity has no standing military of any form besides the United Shield, who has branches in every city in the kingdom. It's reach is far, and the people who are within are incredibly talented at their jobs. The crime rate in Unity is incredibly low, and the reformation of criminals has the highest success rates in Sedden.
Religion
The majority of citizens within Unity worship the sibling duo of Akari and Oniron, or at least one of. Though the worship of Liphan is also common, it isn't nearly as present as the others. Churches ran by The Order of the White Feather are rather common in larger towns and cities, and the organization itself has it's hand in many pots throughout the kingdom.
Foreign Relations
Unity has incredibly strong political ties with all of it's neighbors, as it's sustainability is reliant on positive relationships. It has incredibly strong economic ties to the coastal nation of Harna, as well as a very long standing formal declaration of protection from the dwarves of the Broadcrags. Unity has always stood by it's neighbors during time of conflict, and they stand by them in return. Many of these neighbors and allies have agreed to the Unitian Ally Aggressor Guideline.
