Yuzerite Ward

Pronunciation - /YOO-ze-riet/   Located in the dense forests in the center of Sear, Yuzerite Ward appears to all outward observers to be a pastoral fairytale kingdom full of talking animals, sentient plants, and other wonders. This is, of course, the image intentionally cultivated by Archon Yuzerite, a practitioner of the Animisim tradition and purveyor of fine animal companions and unique servants across Argent.   In a similar manner to Archon Hepent, Archon Yuzerite creates forms which are more adept at performing the tasks necessary in his Ward. But, unlike Hepent, he does not wait for his Bonds to die, let alone perform a funeral, before claiming everything they have to give. At a relatively young age around their late teens, Bonds in Yuzerite Ward undergo “Placement”. Their soul is transplanted into an animal form to live out the natural lifespan of the creature as either a labourer or servant for the Ward itself, or for any purchaser elsewhere in Argent. There is no end to the number of people who would jump at the adorable possibility of a gnome-sized hare dressed in a tuxedo and sporting a bow tie while they serve champagne at a ball, and Archon Yuzerite is all too prepared to fill that niche.   Bonds in Yuzerite Ward have one exception available to them to avoid Placement: childbirth. A pregnant couple is allowed to raise their child for 2 years before the father loses their privilege of exception, and 5 years before the mother loses theirs. After that, the child is raised in a communal education system by various animal teachers and guards, teaching them what a normal state of affairs an animal body is. This policy naturally encourages early and frequent births, as young teens attempt to extend their time in their born forms before they are forced to face their destiny. The population of Yuzerite Ward is thus kept very healthy and stable because of this arrangement.
