Drugal Castle
Before the founding of the Kingdom of Velant, the sinister lich Drugal resided in his castle near the edge of Knothole Forest. Disguising his true nature, he would often lure unsuspecting travelers, merchants and arcane practioners to his abode for a promised night of revelry and festivities. Once the evening had reached its crescendo, Drugal would conduct a horrid necromantic ritual to suck the life essence / Anima from his unfortuante, unsuspecting guests in order to further power his phylactery. The original Count Vondrak, upon attending one of Drugal's parties, managed to stop and defeat the lich in the middle of his ritual. While Drugal was stopped and vanished from the Castle, the interruption caused the current guests to take up permanent residence at the Castle as rambunctions ghosts; specters that Vondrak contained within the Castle walls.
AfterCobblestone's founding, the Castle has served as the residence of the overseeing official of the township, though besides the Count's steward no one can remember the last time someone has traversed its dreary halls. The central tower of the structure holds an observatory, where some have often claimed to see a large brass telescope pointing towards the starry expanse above, as if desperately searching for something.
