Kingdom of Velant

The southern most nation on the continent of Solanus, the Kingdom of Velant is a relatively new nation on Western Arkos when compared to the likes of the Crescent Empire, the Oreion Inquisition, and the Draconian Republic. Nevertheless, Velant is well known for producing some of the most prominent scholars and explorers of the 3rd Age. Many of the historical accounts and theories of The Alphacians, the Primordials, The Cataclysm and of the civilizations that existed during the 1st and 2nd Age have come from The Phoenix Academy near the Kingdom's coastal capital of Rimora. While the academy teaches and trains some of the brightest minds on Solanus, the other organization it is well known for is The Velantian Crows. The order of assassins is credited for protecting the Kingdom moreso than its standing military The Auric Wings or its law keepers The Justicars do, and many believe Velant's large northern neighbour the Oreion Inquisition does not invade the Kingdom out of fear of the crows. Since its inception, Velant has been ruled by the Solidor royal family. In recent times, however, the current monarch King Galvus Solidor the II has mysteriously dissapeared, leaving Viceroy Zenos to govern the Kingdom in his absence.
