Frigus
The harsh north has conditioned the orcs and other races' psychology for toughness just as it does the body. Orcs and Goliaths have always had a tendency to be selfish, unsympathetic, and blunt. The people of Frigus respect strength and self-reliance and are neither surprised nor offended by battle. Their worst insult is to call someone "not worth killing." So, in a way, getting killed in Frigus is a compliment. Hopefully that positivity will keep you warm if you ever head up there. - The Traveler's Guide to Frigus by Inara FlickerfallFrigus is a cold yet vibrant territory north of the Oreion Inquisition, crowning the top of the continent of Solanus. Being populated mainly by Orcs and Goliath, Frigus boasts a mix of hardened cultures that thrive on survival of the fittest and hunting in the vast wilds. Despite the harshness of the northern environment, Frigus also boasts beautiful tree life and a number of biomes, as opposed to the harsh tundra of the Brink Lands. The Orcs and Goliaths of Frigus are divided into numerous clans. Membership in a clan allows an individual to own property, join the a clan militia and apply to serve under a battlemaster. Clan diplomats represent the strength of their people to other clans, and thus make it their job to look intimidating lest their clan be targeted for conquest. Young Orcs and Goliaths undergo a rite of passage that is overseen by a shaman respective to the clan the individual wishes to join. While the society of Frigus and the respective clans that dwell within are quite sophisticated, they are often viewed as base savages by the people of the Inquisition, while the Crescent Empire has been known to trade with a variety of the clans from time to time. There is an old, popular saying often used by the people of Frigus: "The ice of Frigus never cracks."
