"This will be a short battle! ...wait..."
Only being about two and a half feet tall, the tabaxi known as Veigar has always suffered from an inferiority complex. After helping
The Companions save Crescentian citizens from
Nex - The Screaming Tyrant upon his return, Veigar was captured by the Fallen Ancient.
Psychologically tortured, Veigar was made to believe he was an evil master wizard, meant to bring about Nex's return should he managed to be banished from the mortal realm once again. Upon Nex's banishment at the hands of the Companions, Veigar fled to the
Kingdom of Velant to begin honing his primordial magics and consolidating his power.
Hiring a bumbling band of thieves known as the Goons, Veigar began terrorizing the Velant countryside, though he usually ended up doing more good than harm to Velant's citizens. Upon meeting the
The Sanctioned, Veigar proclaimed himself to be the group's arch enemy. Despite his immense arcane prowess, none of the adventurers ever really took Veigar's "overwhelming evil" seriously.
Due to his mental torment at the hands of Nex, Veigar began adopting a split personality as a paladin named Rivage, who would occasionally assist the Sanctioned. Eventually, the Sanctioned were able to somewhat heal Veigar's broken mental state by acting as heroes who were opposing his evil reign.
While he still proclaims himself to be an all powerful evil wizard, the Sanctioned have come to regard the tiny mage as an ally, and there are few in Velant who do not recognize the good the tabaxi has done despite his many protestations.
