House Ulatris

Overview

House Ulatris is a prominent elven family with strong ties to the ruling structures of Everdawn. At the heart of the family is Lord Lyntross Ulatris I, a respected Councilmember of the Abiding Council, the highest authority over all elves in Everdawn. His only child, Theren Ulatris, is the Regnent of Everdawn City, holding significant political and administrative responsibilities. This central position grants House Ulatris considerable influence and respect among other elven houses.

Prominent Ulatris Members

Lyntross Ulatris I

Lyntross Ulatris I, an Abiding Councilmember within the Everdawn Sovereignty, and the head of House Ulatris, stands as a pivotal figure whose influence spans generations. A scholar of unparalleled intellect, Lyntross navigated the arcane complexities of both the Mythrose Council and the Onyx Orb, negotiating an educational partnership that transcended rivalries and fostered unity.
Lyntross also orchestrated an unprecedented peace agreement between Dwarf King Zieger Brightforger and House Ulatris long ago, bridging longstanding divides. House Ulatris's legacy of arcane rituals and knowledge supported the Brightforger Clan converging in a historic negotiations, forever altering the course of diplomacy and unity between elves and dwarves.
Despite his diplomatic prowess, his legacy is tainted by rumors of necromantic and conjuration experiments, stirring echoes of past turmoil. His trade deal with the dwarves was mired in controversy as many elves in the Everdawn Sovereignty believe that the elves should stay out of affairs with other species. His rivalry with Iolath Nathall, an enigmatic Abiding Councilmember, is whispered to have roots in romantic liaisons, arcane pursuits, academic rivalries, or theological divides, each possibility contributing to a captivating and enduring enmity that echoes through the annals of Everdawn's history.

Lyntross Ulatris II

Theren's first child, eldest son, Lord Lyntross II, is the head of the Ulatris military and Lord of the Winds (Stormwing Wardens). He is next in line for a seat on the Abiding Council, making him a critical figure in the elven political landscape.
His children, Nella and Reynell Ulatriss, possess unique skills and positions that have both benefited and complicated the Ulatris name. Nella's reputation as the Lady of the Cutting Pines has garnered admiration, but also caused some dissent among environmentalists. Nella is known as the Lady of the Cutting Pines as she has defended Everdawn from a disease which was going to spread to the Living Trees and Dryad population of Everdawn. She mournfully cut down a family of pine trees to save the entire nation of trees. Reynell's elite military unit, Solth's Guard, has earned respect but could also stir fear and rivalry among other elven families with military interests. They protect everdawn against magical monstrocities and mindless beasts. In ages past, this unit were the ones who hunted down rogue elven wizards. They are tactically trained for magical combat.

Aulian Ulatris

Aulian, Theren's first daughter, married Pellsan Oakspring, a member of the Wood Elves, and now serves on the Mythrose Council in Ice Haven. As a mage specializing in Conjuration and Abjuration magic, her expertise in the arcane arts is both an asset and a potential source of contention among the more traditional factions. Her son, Kadano, living with the Wood Elves, may also bring certain political dynamics into play between House Ulatris and the Wood Elves in the South.

Oletris Ulatris

Oletris, Theren's second son, is a highly esteemed mage affiliated with the Onyx Orb's Cognium Institute of the Arcane in Fey's Keep. His pursuit of magical power over rulership sets him apart from other members of the family, leading to contrasting viewpoints on leadership and authority within the House. His informants scattered throughout Everdawn may trigger suspicions and rivalries with other elven families.

Adran Ulatris

Adran, Theren's fifth child, inherited the Regnent of Ice Haven, making him a significant player in the political landscape. He is married to Naivara Ulatris and together they rule Ice Haven. His close relationship with Lyntross II fosters a sense of unity between House Ulatris branches in Everdawn City and Ice Haven. However, Adran's children, Lucian Ulatris and Jaelynn, or "Lynn", demonstrate distinct interests that could either unite or create divisions within the family. Lucian's imprisonment and reckless behavior might create political challenges, while Jaelynn's passion for magic and world-saving aspirations might lead to different priorities and political tensions.

Overall, House Ulatris appears to have a strong core of unity, especially within their immediate lineage. However, the diverse interests and roles among its members may bring forth internal debates and external challenges, particularly with other powerful elven families seeking to gain influence and authority in Everdawn. Strife might arise from differing approaches to leadership, magical pursuits, and environmental concerns, while unity could stem from a shared legacy of prestige and devotion to the elven nation. Balancing their ambitions and responsibilities will be crucial for maintaining the stability and prosperity of both House Ulatris and Everdawn as a whole.
