Order Abilities

Meynari Animal Companion (Ex)
At 2nd level, the cavalier's bond with his traditional animal companion deepens. His animal companion becomes one of the traditional animals significant to Khmer culture, chosen from a list that includes the Buffalo, Crocodile, Elephant, Tiger or Constrictor Snake. This choice is permanent and represents the cavalier's dedication to the Meynari way. Not only that, the cavalier learns the traditional techniques for bonding with his chosen traditional animal companion. This bond allows him to ride the companion effectively from an earlier level. The animal companion's size is considered one size category larger for the purpose of determining whether the cavalier can ride it. This allows the cavalier to ride his medium-sized traditional animal companion from 2nd level onwards without penalty.

Dance of Unity (Ex)
At 8th level, the cavalier and his traditional animal companion can perform a unique "Dance of Unity." As a full-round action that requires both the cavalier and his companion to be within 30 feet of each other, they perform a traditional Meynari dance that channels their bond and energy. Once per day, this dance grants the following benefits for a number of rounds equal to the cavalier's Charisma modifier:

    • Both the cavalier and his companion gain a +2 bonus to Strength and Dexterity.
    • They gain a +4 morale bonus on attack rolls and damage rolls.
  • The cavalier and his companion become immune to fear effects and gain temporary hit points equal to their levels.

Khmer Heritage (Ex)
At 15th level, the cavalier's connection to Meynari culture and its traditional animals deepens. He gains the ability to communicate with and command all creatures native to Meynari culture, such as elephants, tigers, and birds, as if using the "speak with animals" and "charm animal" spells, though these creatures still retain their free will. Additionally, the cavalier and his animal companion can use their Dance of Unity ability one additional time per day.

Jungle Sovereignty (Ex)
At 20th level, the cavalier attains the pinnacle of his connection with the traditional animals and the jungle itself. He becomes the sovereign protector of the Radhaputni jungle and its creatures. The following benefits are conferred upon the cavalier:

    • Perfect Unity: The cavalier and his traditional animal companion achieve a state of perfect unity. The animal companion gains all the benefits of the Dance of Unity ability at all times, even when not actively dancing. This includes the stat bonuses, attack and damage bonuses, and immunity to fear.

    • Nature's Fury: The cavalier can call upon the fury of the jungle once per day. As a standard action, he can unleash a powerful roar or call that sends tremors through the earth, causing the jungle itself to respond. The ground shakes, vines and foliage come to life, and jungle creatures rally to his aid.

    • All enemies within 60 feet of the cavalier must make a Fortitude saving throw (DC 10 + half the cavalier's level + his Charisma modifier) or be stunned for 1d4 rounds and take 10d6 points of bludgeoning damage from the tremors.

  • Jungle creatures (as determined by the GM) within a 1-mile radius are summoned to the cavalier's location, acting as if under the effects of the "summon nature's ally" spell. The creatures summoned are native to the Khmer jungle and are bound to obey the cavalier's commands for a number of rounds equal to his Charisma modifier.
