Dragonborn with chromatic ancestry claim the raw elemental power of chromatic dragons. The vibrant colors of black, blue, green, red, and white dragons gleam in those dragonborn’s scaled skin and in the deadly energy of their breath weapons. History
The Dragonborn were a creation of the Dragon God. Having risen to Godhood through power and brute force the mighty dragon tried his hand at creating creatures in his image. His first attempt created the Kobold but it was a flawed race and the Dragon God deemed it as a failure and left it's creation to die in the wild. The Dragon continued to practice creating life but was continually disappointed with the results. Continuous trial and error lead to the creation of the Kobold race.
It took many centuries but eventually the Dragon God got it right. Humanoids in his image with powerful wings and elemental breath. The one problem that the Dragon God did not see was that his creation was too perfect. The Dragonborn had the same pride that led to the Dragon God climbing to the heights of his power. Pride that would not allow for the Dragon God to remain and hold it's power over them.
A massive war broke out among dragonkind and the dragonkin. Much to the horror of the dragons, the dragonborn proved to be more dangerous of a force than expected as they managed to gather the other humanoid races against the might of the dragons. Centuries of battles and hunting almost drove the dragon race to extinction as they fled from the might of the humanoid races. The largest of the fights was the dragonborn's fight against the Dragon God, their creator. In a final act of defiance before his death he cursed the race of dragonborn to be a forever flightless and small flight.
Generations of the future were born without the powerful wings of their ancestors as well as with difficulty with reproduction. A dragonborn couple would be considered lucky to give birth to a healthy child. It was a miracle to produce more than one. With this awareness the dragonborn race was on a timer. Their race would slowly die out when the race became too small and too spread out. To avoid this most dragonborn decided to settle under the skeleton of the Dragon God. Forming the city of Drisscus. Nowadays Drisscus is the homeland of the dragonborn and where most return to eventually settle down and work to continue their race.
