The Vermin Guild
The Vermin Guild, known colloquially as the "Rat's End" Guild, is a new guild situated in Blackwater. Founded by the Shademour Family, it stands as a testament to the vision that anyone in Blackwater can gain fame and power with enough dedication and willpower.
The origins of the Vermin Catchers Guild can be traced back to 30 years ago, when the perception of rats in the general public's mind changed from pest to delicacy thanks to the influence of King Arcturus III.. The Shademour family, a family of rat-catchers born in poverty, seized this unexpected opportunity. With a combination of resourcefulness and dedication, they used their sudden wealth to establish the guild as a haven for those who felt a calling to the profession of rat-catching, and those in need of a second chance in life.
Structure
The guild is currently under the leadership of Thorian Shademour, the son of the guild's founder. Thorian has embraced the role with a fervent determination to uphold the family's way of life and the guild's reputation. Despite his family's recent rise to nobility, Thorian still remembers growing up in poverty, and tries to keep both the guild and his family in humble spirits.
Culture
Membership within the Vermin Catchers Guild is an eclectic mix of Bards and Druids, many of whom were once considered outcasts or individuals struggling in the shades of society. The guild offers them not only gainful employment but also a sense of belonging. The guild is already known amongst the lower class to be a place of safety and second chances.
Public Agenda
The Vermin Catchers Guild has transformed from a mere business venture to an institution of cultural significance. As the Shademour family continues to steer the guild, its members look forward to expanding their horizons, exploring new methods of pest control, and forging deeper connections within the city.
