Míradai, the Wanderer

Míradai, also known as "the Wanderer", is the goddess of prophecy, fire, and trickery. She is the patron of Tabaxi.   Míradai is a well-love goddess of tricks and tales, the patron of wanderers, fortune tellers, and tricksters alike. She is said to guide the traveling soul by the light of her stars, even telling those she is guiding the futures they may encounter. She grants her faithful the gift of prophecy, casting light towards futures to be like fire into darkness.   Her people, the Tabaxi, are wanderers and tricksters in her image. After the Fall of Æthra, many Tabaxi took to wandering the Old Æthran Wastes as nomadic traders and explorers, carving their own paths in a land lost to them. Soon these travels gathered wandering folk of every race and creed, and soon begun to blaze trails through the most impassible of terrain, some say even realms such as the Elemental Planes or the Land of the Dead.   Some cosmologists say that Míradai's presence on the divine plane has wavered in recent years. She is neither dead, dying, nor missing, unlike her divine counterparts Ssektosh, Typhoon, or El'Braor respectively. No, it is clear that her power remains the same, it is instead as if she is simply absent. Details as to why this may be remain a mystery.   Míradai is worshiped alongside El'Braor, Haku, and Lunæthra as a member of the Great Wheel, the four deities held in highest regard by the High Ælf civilization of Old Æthra. She is currently not represented on the Tetrarchy, as all potential priests of Míradai of a high enough rank to fill the role always refuse the position, citing portents and divinations pointing to the true heir to the Tetrarch title being somewhere out in the world still.   Like all of the deities in the Great Wheel, Míradai is considered an evil god within the Lore of the Deep. Míradai is also considered evil within the Giant pantheon, the Sons of the Titan, who hold little value in divine portents, and depict her as a deceiver and a trickster.

Worshipers of Míradai might include...

  • A diviner, reading the magics of the stars to decipher the many futures that could be from the one that will.
  • A Tabaxi nomad, wandering between realms in search of adventure and freedom.
  • A con artist, using their wits and guile to make it in a difficult world.
  • A pyromancer, embracing the deep magics of light and fire to banish the darkness.
