Notes
The session began with more puttering around the Undercropolis. Erithien Darkmoon, upon learning that her blood can raise the dead into subservient undeath, begins blithely spraying her creepy black blood everywhere she can. Her end-game is to raise an undead army, possibly to do battle against Dreadmancer Steelbone, her childhood captor.
Danithal Titanothos increased the domain of trickery by stealthily picking the lock to the central cage at the Frolicking Roper. Who knows what chaos will ensue when the creature realizes and exorcises its freedom. Duer Graysong gets inundated with countless sending messages as word of his return to Aventyr gets around Droheim. The two worst culprits are Madame Vishnu, the proprietress of a brothel delivery service, and Orgon Delight, a provider of magical products. Somehow the spammers became aware of Duer Graysong's friends and began to hawk their goods towards them. Erithien Darkmoon learns of the Rock Gnome philosophy that prophecy (they call it reverse-pressure fate) is not a real thing. However, they assert that portents and omens are real. For example, they do not choose their leaders in advance, rather when a new leader is needed another one will be the obvious choice. Feye Lyne braves the underdark on her own but takes a wrong turn. It all ends well when she happens upon (an also lost) Duer Graysong and Danithal Titanothos. Feye Lyne and Danithal Titanothos play a game of cat and elephant-assassin while Duer Graysong discreetly deals with an overlooked underdark predator. Together they make their way back to civilization. When Babaduke "Gembo" Gemkind decides to risk Zadro "Fellwalker" Echoseeker's life be delaying the venture to rescue him, his friends chide him for the decision. Eventually, he agrees to meet with Galphi "not-too-much" Echoseeker and they set out. Galphi "not-too-much" Echoseeker joins the mission and explains that only she knows the way because an Echoseeker never writes down their maps, which are a highly guarded family secret. The first stop in the Uppercropolis is the Spiderken, a temple of the Old God Lolth and home to deadly spiders. After admiring the flaming spidertaur statue on the roof of the Spiderken, the group readies themselves to battle the arachnoids thought to dwell within only to find them suspiciously absent. In the room the group finds the remains of an Echoseeker cousin, Shael "flumph-kisser" Echoseeker who died of wounds from an attack to his leg. In possessed a missive which told Galphi "not-too-much" Echoseeker that Father Echoseeker had gone to the 8th Circle of Magic, a dangerous place to go. The group inadvertently draws nearby burrowing Kruthik to them when they release one from Flumph-Kisser's bag and it calls for help. With a fight incoming the session ended.
