Murakami Tsubasa

Guardian of the High Priestess
"You mustn't address me so informally, Lady Arakaki."
Tsubasa is a supporting character in Deicide. She appears as an Akagawan human born in Varys's season but is actually a [spoilered]. She has worked her way up through the ranks of the Blades of Tranquility and serves as Arakaki Aimi's personal guard.

Profile

  • Formal, dedicated, protective, secret soft-spot for cute things, peaceful, honorable, rigorous.
  • Stiff, distant, creature of habit, taciturn, will choose morality over self-preservation, perfectionist.
  • She needs to find a great treasure.
  • She wants to earn the trust of those around her.
  • Many people are suspicious of her colored hair (evidence of Confliction ) and status as a woman, so she is rarely seen outside of full armor. Many people assume she is a man.
  • As a guardian, her fighting style is less about inflicting damage and more about providing cover and drawing fire.
  • She enjoys protecting people and doing good.
  • She knows more about the illness affecting the Empress and Kaoru's secret heritage than she lets on.
  • Her true identity is a secret to all, and her family a mystery.
  • Although she possesses an exceptional affinity for wind magic, she abstains from using it to avoid suspicion.
  • She carries an ancient flask of wine inlaid with copper and set with turquoise with her at all times, though she does not drink.

Notes

She adores Aimi, but tries to keep a respectful distance.   In Japanese, 翼 (tsubasa) means wing.   Her tarot card, Temperance, means middle path; patience; finding meaning and, if reversed, extremes; excess; lack of balance.   Her favorite flower, morning glory, means willful promises.
