Arakaki Aimi

High Priestess of Akagawa, Heir to the Empress's Throne
"This world is cruel. I want to grow the kindness in it."
Aimi is a supporting character in Deicide. She is an Akagawan human born in Metus's season, the daughter of Akagawa Kimiko and Arakaki Isamu. She serves her people in daily ritual and prayer as their High Priestess, and resides in the royal palace of Kamishitai.

Profile

  • Graceful, loving, playful, sweet.
  • Meek, childish, spineless, praise-seeker, nosy, paranoid, flirtatious.
  • She needs to find her place in the world.
  • She wants to be loved by her people as a hero of good.
  • She has difficulty navigating the political turmoil of the castle with her mother comatose and her older brothers seizing power.
  • As the only daughter of the Empress, she is next in line to lead her people.
  • She enjoys offering kindness and reassurance to the faithful who come to her.
  • She worries over their relations with Yuanlin and the fate of the missing child of the Tradequeen.
  • The magical lens implanted in her eyes makes them appear red rather than pink, as the eldest daughter of Akagawa is typically born in Consecra's season. Secretly, she wonders if Consecra cares about her people at all.
  • Despite her distance from most combat scenarios, she is incredibly powerful when driven by her Confliction of fear.

Notes

She is quite fond of Murakami Tsubasa and enjoys flustering her whenever possible.   Her relation with the Katsuo twins  is difficult and distrustful.   She trusts her younger brother Katsuo wholeheartedly and appreciates his boldness.   In Japanese, 愛美 (aimi) means love; affection; beautiful.   Her tarot card, the High Priestess, means intuitive, unconscious, inner voice and, if reversed, lack of center, lost inner voice, repressed feelings.   Her favorite flowers, pink peony and cherry blossoms, symbolize bravery and kindness; gentleness; transience.
