Demonblood and Demonoil

Demonblood is composed of the black ichor spilled from slain demons. Demonoil is a corruptive and dangerous material formed from stabilized demonblood.

Description

When a demon is killed in the Material Plane, its body decays rapidly into a black ichor, commonly referred to as demonblood. While this material has a high potential to stain whatever it comes into contact with, in most cases the amount is small enough to eventually fully dissipate.   In large quantities, usually only in cases of prolonged demonic presence or where many demons were slain at once, the volume of demonblood can be such that even as some dissipates, the residual material may stabilize into demonoil.   Demonoil is a sticky, adherent substance that seemingly resembles bile or thick tar. The full properties of demonoil are not known, but it is believed that it is highly corruptive and dangerous.

Sources

The greatest sources of demonoil are battlefields where many demons have been killed. In Tarteria, this is primarily the Demons' Blood Marshes, as well as Keeleon Castle and Hezrou Pass.
