Tempe

In the late Fourth Age, Tempe was a small city located along the Brass Highway in the Gnome Lands of Iluvitar.   The city functions as the defacto capital of the subsidiary gnomish state within the Santeem Republic.

Description

In the late Fourth Age, the rustic and dusty city was focused around a central well. Several buildings, including the mayor's keep, were situated around this well's courtyard. Several farm houses and fields surrounded the city, some of which were broken down and in disrepair.   The home of Leo was on the north side of the city. The farmhouse was broken down, with missing windows and dust filling the interior. A wide wheat field surrounded the building.   Groupings of trees were nearby to the north and south of the city.

Demographics

The city is a major trading area for the Gnome Lands, and many gnomes reside in the city away from their familial underground homes. The Brass Highway brings in many people from across the country as well. In the Fifth Age, the population of the city is largely human and gnomish.
