Personal history
While Franz is one of the oldest of the Exertisius Spiritus, this doesn't mean much due to Blood Hunters living relatively short and violent lives.
In the year 182 Fifth Age, a large mob of angry peasantry attacked Dreadgard. Though it was successfully defended and the ruler of Vladia condemned the attack, many brothers were lost. Franz took his first life during the attack, and he's never forgotten it since.
In 191, the village of Hollow's End in Galvinor was attacked by a horde of vampires led by Terzin Godfrey, a higher vampire. Along with the villagers, Franz managed to drive the vampires out of the village. The Hunter however, knew that their victory was only temporary and that the vampires would strike again once they healed their wounds. He commanded the peasants to the castle of Diosgir, where Terzin took shelter.
Although Franz was injured in the clash, the peasants managed to capture the vampire. After chopping Terzin into pieces, they buried his remains as deep as possible. While the treatment was insufficient to kill the higher vampire, it was more than enough to convince Terzin to stop drinking blood and attacking the villagers.
For many years Franz Weiss travelled from contract to contract, slaying a large variety of creatures; Wyverns, undead, demons, devils, even dragons.
For some time, the Exerticius Spiritus received fundings from the monarchs of Vladia alongside the Exertisius Mutagenus. Franz had to reluctantly cooperate with Hexon, the fencing master of the Mutegenus Hunters. Originally not liking each other, the two grew to understand one another. The cooperation between the orders unfortunately had to cease, as the Mutegenus Grandmaster Tyron, and a group of hunters, had secretly conspired with King Ralliant III and the mage Prekender against the Spiritus Hunters.
A week before the planned tournament between the orders Franz and Hexon were put under arrest by the king's men, thus spared from the massacre that occured. During the tournament, King Ralliant III betrayed both Spiritus and Mutegenus, ordering his soldiers to shoot them all, resolving both his budget problems and imagined threats to his power in a simple but effective way.
Both Hunters were released some time later and allowed to rebuild the orders, on the condition that the royal money would be never given to them again and that the orders must operate alone and unfunded. The orders rebuilt slowly, though the Exerticius Spiritus moved their main operations to Galvinor. Dreadgard laid on the border between the two nations in the Dreadling Hills, so a new headquarters was not required.
In the year 200 Fifth Age, Franz was under contract by the Tzardom of Senderfalls, where he distinguished himself by valiantly fighting along side the Elite Winged Hussars of Frost. For his deeds, he was granted their highest honor, the silver wings of valor.
In the year 208 Fifth Age, he was asked to be the Galvinorian representative to a banquette in the Aurumfel city of New Carmile Carmile, where he met The Trase Amigos. Agreeing to act as an advisor figure to the fledgling group, he jounreyed with them to the city of Meklagard to establish a settlement.
