Meklagard

Meklagard is a large city in the southern half of the Western Dales, stradling the Mekla River in the middle of the Imperial Plains. The city was a complete ruin, having been abandoned for a few centuries, until recent colonization by the Trase Amigos.
Originally named Konstanton, after a great emperor of the Tremalking Empire, it was renamed to "Meklagard", meaning "The Great City" after it was made the new capital of the Melentine Empire a huge, yet, smaller version of the Tremalking Empire formed once they abandoned the lands east of the The Dwarven Marches.
Meklagard is currently settled by The Trase Amigos.

Defences
The city is defended by a mixture of various warriors and soldiery. Though no formal military is established, the city guards have been proven and bloodied against conflcits with roving Orcish tribes, mad Warforge constructs, and Undead Thralls.

Infrastructure
While most of the city is still in ruin, two of the Old Town city quarters have been repaired with the help of the Noricksberg Construction Company; The Beatrix Bridge quarter and the Dwarvish Embassy quarter. Both reside at the base of the Citadel bluffs, massive cliffs that hold the ancient magical center of the Second Empire, the Citadel.
History
The city was resettled in the Fifth age 208 by the Trase Amigos and a following of settlers and refuges.
The Trase Amigos scouted ahead and made contact with entities already living within the city, dealing with threats and collecting valuable resources. However when the settlers arrived, the Meklaguard, Bjornling Host, and the Trase Amigos engaged a roving orcish horde in battle, driving them away and saving the populace.
After this, the Inner Old Town was rebuilt and settled. A company of Warforge was discovered and integrated into the Meklaguard, and a small band of Chasind were rescued from a Burundian slave brig, who were also added to the Meklaguard. After dealing with a curse in the northwestern quarter of the city, the Meklaguard helped repel an attack by Vampires and their Undead Thralls.
