Giant Insect

With the increasing dimensional instability of earth, it is becoming easier for entities to cross over. First ethereal entities of Lightbringers and Shadow Reapers, then upon the group completing their journey within Sanctuary Islands they were greeted with a gianting flying insect that was drawn to the energy of the shard and nearly entered the realm had the group not moved out of range causing the portal to split it in half. Whether the bug was an isolated incident or just the first of oncoming swarm, only time will tell.
