He blamed himself for the kidnapping of his daughter, Ann on her way home from work. In bringing her back, he had given the keys to the dockside warehouses to her kidnappers, who promised to return them, just as they returned his daughter. After an outbreak of a deadly disease was traced back to the warehouses, it was discovered that much of the food delivered to Ginanda Ulfi had been tampered with and purposefully infected. Mirk took all the blame for the incident, and was hanged as a traitor.
