Districts

Old Ward
This central part of the city was the original village. It also houses the time travel device The Blue Curtain used to travel into the past. While this device is now defunct and unusable, it is still kept under lock and key by The Blue Curtain because they don't want anyone to know of its existance or of theirs, nor do that want people to know that they tried to change history.
Hotfield
This district now holds a lot of restuarants and specialty shops. It's a major tourist location.
East Town
Middle and Upper-class homes. This is also where town hall and a small amount of specialty shops are. But these specialty shops are hidden gems because you have to know about them to find them.
Cattleknot
A lot of warehouses in this district including slaughterhouses for animals.
North Town
Poor district and a hot bed for crime. The Shadowsong Order has a small operation here because this district is overlooked by the rest of the city.
Charrock
This district is off-limits to most. Only The Blue Curtain uses this district. It is one of several testing sites for dealing with the Eaters. It's close enough to the Old Ward for use but far enough for them to fear anything. They have ensured that the Eaters won't be able to get into the other districts.

History

This started out as a simple farming and hunting village. That changed when The Blue Curtain travelled back in time trying to change history. The Blue Curtain brought in people to run the city, build walls out of what would be future material, and take care of the population. To the inhabitants of the time, this became a utopia. It fell into ruin after Theodora Prescott killed the population, though some of The Blue Curtain members were able to escape back into the future.   About a century later, people began to repopulate, where it thrives to this day. Archeological Society of Caelum Prime has asked repeatedly for permission to do some excavating in the Old Ward district. They been turned down every time, for the reasons of disrupting the lives of the residents, disrupting tourists trade, and (unknown to the Society) pressure from the Methaca Empire.

Why would the Methaca Empire have anything to say in Cubria's internal affairs? And why wasn't the Society being told? That city has a long and (slightly tarnished) distinguished history. A lot could be learned about why there was a hundred years of no Human occupation. Hmmm... this is the nature of my job to learn history, to ask questions so I can learn it. But answers inevitably lead to more questions. It's a vicious cycle, to be honest. Yet, here I am still searching for answers, still learning about the past.
