History

The Golden Tavern was once a place that was looked on with pride by the people of the City-State of Vict. It was a shining beacon for weary travellers. It was a place where those who live in this country would point tourist to and the converation went like this:

You'll find nothing better here than the marinated bear?
Bare what?

Go to The Golden. Ask for the special. You won't be disappointed.

And tourists never were. Though none ever found out what a bear was.
These days The Golden Tavern is rundown. It no longer serves marinated bear and it offers smelly gin instead of the better stuff it used it. People no longer tell tourists to go there. In fact tourists are actively steered away.
