Rosary

Written by CoolG1319

Rosaries are special necklaces worn to show one’s faith, belief in, and devotion to Ameuses. All angels must wear it lest they are seen as non-believers. They were created by the early angels to show devotion to their beloved god. When an angel turns a year old, their parents give them these necklaces. Rosaries must be worn every single day for the rest of an angel’s life and can only be taken off when one wants to bathe, sleep, or clean it.

Symbolic Design

The design consists of a circle, the shape associated with their god, with six small triangles attached to it. The result resembles a sun, paying homage to their god sacrificing His left eye to create Caelumen’s sun. Attached beneath this sun shape is another, smaller circle representing the moon, symbolizing Junii, the moon goddess, giving up her right eye to create the realm’s moon.

Its colour and base material differ with each angel race.

Manufacturing and Distribution

Rosaries are mass-produced by The Central Church (one hundred are made every year) and sent to every angel region where special carriers deliver them to households. Each gets five. Only the organization knows exactly how these religious items are produced.

After receiving their rosaries, the residents give them to their children or relatives’ children. If they have none, they store them in special boxes to later give to their neighbours or future offspring.

Blasphemous Refusal

Refusing to wear this item is seen as sinful, a sign of non-belief and disrespect for Ameuses and His wife. Angels who commit this act are given judgmental and disgusted glares from everyone around them and, at times, insulted and bullied by their peers who call them “heretics” and “heathens”.

Religious Significance

This item is the tangible version of Solilunae (Sun and Moon), a symbol representing Ameuses and Junii sacrificing each eye to bring day and night to the realm and by extension, their love for each other as Junii agreed to give up her right eye at her husband’s humble request. Thus, wearing the symbol as a necklace means honouring the gods’ sacrifice.
