Northgate

Bastion of the North

Standing at the northern coast of Avellonis is a former defensive base against the encroaching armies of Kingsbury during the Age of Divide - Now turned into an army barracks and training grounds for potential recruits.

History

Built with defence in mind it had sturdy walls and heavy reinforced gates that served as a testament to an era when the lands faced constant war and strife from rival territories. Northgate was a quick response to the looming dangers of Kingsbury after the destruction of the Dymchurch monastery and was built with haste only taking a couple months to finish construction.

Barracks

As the nations moved towards an era of relative peace the need for the defence at Northgate had diminished and The Crown had decided to turn it's once impenetrable fortress to more a useful facility. Transforming through the years into a sprawling training ground where the sons and daughters of Rainegate would come to test their mettle against one another and join the ranks of the Rainean army. Vast courtyards where once an army could stand as one now turned into a barracks for the aspiring, The Keep turned lodging for the elite and while recruits weren't lacking they found a use for the nearby town of Steelbrook in conscription and other possible vocations.
