Dymia Forest

The closest forest region just outside the gates of Rainegate is known as the Dymia Forest, A large vibrant land that houses an abundance of fruit trees that hug the walls of mountains forming canopies that envelop the land below with a dark shade. The cartography of the region is well known to the inhabitants of Avellonis as it's long been used and documented since the Age of Unification, Roads since then have been constructed where a path through the forest was carved leaving the majority of trees to dwindle beyond the edge of the way. The region is neighboured by the Grimsroad and Splintergarde regions dramatically different in geographic ways due to the mass difference in how the colliding regions operate. The three settlements that make up the region are:

  • Northgate
  • A settlement up north, Where the Rainegate army are known to train their newest recruits as well as a possible staging ground for the defence of the continent.
  • Steelbrook
  • A former tribal village turned into the smithing capital of Avellonis, Forging the newest tools and weapons to be used by the realm.
  • Dymchurch
  • The merchant town of Dymia River and sister city of Deepglen, Facilitating growth of continuous economic trade.
One of the most prosperous regions in Avellonis in regards to producing metalworks and lumber due to the high amount of assets lended down by the city of Rainegate, It's grown to be known as a peaceful and most sought after land to live in, Causing housing prices to rise and as such further works to build taverns and homes has always been a priority within the settlements mainly that of Dymchurch where trade between the regions of Dymia and Splintergarde is encouraged.

Geography

The region is surrounded by a plethora of fruit trees that are also themselves encased in three seperate mountain ranges, These trees are a constant source of lumber for the surrounding settlements especially for the village of Steelbrook where the hard applewood is used as a base for handles on tools and weapons.
Dymia Forest Woodsman
The lumberjack is a much widespread profession through these lands forming parties of workers that go day to day manually bringing forth their yields from the forests to the lumberyards situated outside Steelbrook.   Though given the right permits to access lands and take down trees, Some areas are still protected by the crown due to the symbolic nature that's deeply intertwined with the kingdom and it's apple trees; With these restrictions, Certain groups have started to make their way into the steelwater forest which has harder and more durable wood with the caveat of it being guarded by aggressive creatures.
