Personal history
Sola's parents died when she was very young, forcing her to take over as head of the family as soon as she turned 17 (far younger than any other family head). Despite her youth, she is remembered as a fine ruler who furthered the growth and stability of Lumin and ensured its people could live in harmony with the Fey there.
Sola went on to manage the country undisputed after the solasigh incident, and became known and admired for her cleverness. She continued to manage the country well until her death at the age of 87, leaving Lumin in the care of her two sons.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Sola Nightingale is best known for her actions after the attempted Lasposan invasion of 1105 that had left swathes of the costal fey forest burned and dead. Much debate was had over what to do with the newly deforested land; should it be cleared and built into more cities, or should it be left to become overrun with Ashclove In a groundbreaking decision, she decreed that all the ashclove be cleared from the areas and new fey trees be planted. Many opposed this decision, but the order was carried out and the saplings were left to grow wild. In less than a season, the razed woodland had regrown as if it had never been burned in the first place, and along the roads and around the villages a new kind of plant began to appear. This shrub was a gift from the fey, one good turn repaid with another, and a promise that the fey would not cross into the humanfolk's territory. Disappearances from the roads slowed and eventually ceased, and mothers in the villages no longer had to fear waking to find that their child had been replaced with a changeling in the night. The new bushes, in honour of the one who'd made the silent bargain, was named Solasigh.
