Prideholme

In the verdant shadows of the ancient Heartwood Forest lies Prideholme, a bastion of safety and scholarly pursuit. Here, in the midst of relics long consumed by time and nature, the outpost stands vigilant, its presence a testament to the Baroness's decree to tame these wilds. Prideholme is not merely a military fortification; it is an echo of civilizations past and the cradle of a burgeoning future. This outpost is more than a military outpost, it's built at the site of ancient ruins overtaken by the forest. These ruins are regularly studied by scholars from the Morinrayne Society and their depths are often plunged by adventurers guild members seeking fame and fortune. There are multiple dungeons below these ruins, of multiple levels. Most of these dungeons have fairly fast reset rates as well, making many of them able to be cleared a couple times a year. Because of these dungeons, monsters can spill out from them at times making the area unsafe, and so the outpost was founded by decree of the Baroness after taking control of this region to make travel and livelihood safer in the area. This was due to her vision of starting up travelers cabins for rent along the shores of Liberty Lake to increase tourism and revenue in the county. There are typically 100 soldiers assigned to the outpost itself, and it has a number of extra cottages for visiting scholars and their guards and guides. There are no shops in the outpost itself except the Prideholme Post & General Store. It's a government/military subsudized establishment not unlike a general store and courier service whose proceeds benefit the soldiers stationed at the outpost. There is a mess hall run by the Post as well that feeds all the soldiers and many of the scholars in the area. Next door to the outpost is a Roadhouse Inn and Tavern that is quite popular, definitely not because it's the only one around, at least that's what the owner tells himself. Though if you want the best steaks and ale in the outpost, you will book a dinner at the Rhynehorn Hunters Lodge.
