Folly in Fairwater

Special Thanks and Inspirations

The Burnt Coin, Dragoncrown Games, Kayla Slaight, Sir Michael Caine, Sir Ben Kingsley, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,
Danger and intrigue lurk just below the surface of the sleepy trading town of Fairwater in the barony of Ravensedge. While a well-known way station and trading hub between Wooden Planks By the Sea and Howlsmaw Bay and further to Ravenfell with the occasional trouble with local wildlife and the Fey that control the surrounding Koorsay Jungle, there has been a recent upswing in troubles along the roads.   The town guard, understandably concerned, are more preoccupied with the safety of the lives within the town walls and the usual troubles that come from being a tourist attraction. These troubles have recently been increased as the locals become more and more fearful of disturbances at the Fairwater Cemetery.   The magister and his retinue are trying to keep a brave face while also remaining somewhat secretive about late night thefts along the docks, but the Velvet Claw is becoming more agitated since Fairwater is supposed to be protected with local crime regulated more by the Thieves’ Cant signs than the town guard.   Tensions are high enough to be noticed, but the tourists are less concerned with local troubles and the people are putting their hope in the magister and the guard to find a way to return their town to the peace and mystique that draws people there.

Plot points/Scenes

Themes

Mist and fog, mystery, expect the unexpected.
Intended to lead the PCs from level 1 to level 2.
Despite the multiple hooks, each lead to the same destination which provides two new options, locally. Due to the new condition of the Sunforge Armory gear that the general opposition has shows that they were recruited (or at least bought their supplies) locally and paid relatively well. Due to evidence from the aftermath, Wuornos Druettis is willing to pay the negotiated price of whichever quest the party chose, as well as the original posted price of each of the others. (This doesn't count for Dreadful Disturbances Details unless that was the starting choice).
If the Dreadful Disturbances Details quest is still uncompleted, the Party can choose to take that quest rather than either of Magister Garlayne Druettis's options. If the Party makes this choice, the events of the quest lead, instead turn up evidence at the end that points directly to the Twin Pines Theater for the enchanter of the statue. If the Party chooses this option, they should advance to level 3 (at the Taleslinger's discretion) at the end of the Dreadful Disturbances Details quest, itself. Increase difficulty as necessary.
