Idea: Using the intro mechanic in Mugen we could pull a page out of street fighters' book and show a few combos on screen. But which combos... 9Possibly rendered unnecessary by move lists)Ben's original story mode involved them going around a city to get ready for a convention. What would a convention even look like in this universe? Would saber walk into one during a fight and be baffled by the 4 other people nearby trying to dress exactly like her? would there even be conventions in this universe? Detective agency where characters will help each out deal with mysteries, or the occasional shadow or heartless deal. The Accel World kids will be helping Naoto. Probably deal with the cyber detail.

Entropy Machine
Brilliant scientific/magical minds develop (Or are tricked into developing) a device to send everyone home.They figured out that an entity is keeping them there and the entity is holding the universe together, so the idea is to magically poison the land, thusly poisoning the entity and killing it.
This plan would have grave consequences on the land in this world, even after it's returned to its home reality. Despite this, some people decide it is worth the risk if everyone gets to return home and push ahead with the idea.
The CJM Crew are asked to help guard the machine while it's running.
Ben is aware of what the machine will do to Karos and by extension himself. While Ben is unwilling to stop Karos directly because he values his time here and is actively running away from his past, he is ALSO not willing to stop other people's attempts to free themselves.
With this in mind, he drives the crew up to their post in the van, and says he has to check the engine and for them to go on without him.
Later one of the group returns to the car to find Ben lying in the back unresponsive. (possibly Kikyo because she has medical experience and could accurately say how dire the situation is)
The group decides to go to the machine and demand they turn it off. (while possibly one other person in the group attempts to drive Ben to a hospital)
The CJM Crews arrive at the machine and start talking with the operators to turn it off There are other people there protesting the machine's use and as the argument gets heated, Villans arrive to stop the process and steal the machine. (Possibly Ultraman Belial, I can see him using it as a giant death laser for his death star.)
Either the CJM crew rushes to turn off the machine in the confusion, making it seem like they are aiding the villains. Or they try and fail to stop the villains from taking the machine, making people accuse them of helping the villains anyway. OR BOTH.
Ben lives, though may take a few chapters to fully recover? But this starts an arc where people may see the CJM Crew as villains, or at least unsavory.
It may also start an arc for one or more of the crew where they question "Are we really the good guys?"
Ben and Karos final Discission
It's after the fight, the CJM universe is already falling apart, and the area is just a plain land in nothing. Ben walks down to where Karos is.Karos is melting into a puddle. Karos has been weakened to the point where he's lost control of the rest of the people, things, and concepts he's devoured can overpower him and are devouring him in kind.
K: You're here.
B: have to make sure you don't slink off again.
K: I assumed you'd forgive me, you always seem to forgive even those who don't deserve it.
B: It's not about forgiveness. You were a threat to me and my friends. In fact, I'm sure if you had the means you'd try to strike me down even now.
K: ....
K: Your danm right I would. Someone like you could never...
B: I have a question.
K: Huh?
B: Before, when you consumed our reality, or when you started to get your powers, or even here in the CJM universe. Were you happy?
K: What?
B: Were you happy?
K: ...I was full.
B: But not happy. And it wasn't enough was it.
K: That's what it's like to stay hungry. To take what's mine.
B: But you were never content...
B: I think, no matter what you found, you never would be content. Even if you achieved the power you sought, you'd still want more.
K: And what about you? You've sacrificed your happiness to save the friends you so care for, and after this, you'll be alone. In the end, were both losers.
B: ... I don't agree.
B: I was happy in the life I had here, I was content.
B: These circumstances may be changing, and I may be losing my happiness for a time, but I have no doubt that it will return after a time.
B: This is just a time of transition. I've been in them before, longer-lasting ones than this.
B: I will weather it.
K: ...
K: Good for you...
Karos fades away into a puddle as the powers he consumed take him. The puddle reforms into a glowing golden egg shape.
After looking at it briefly, Ben takes the egg into his form.
