Jakobi, the Hobo King

Minor God of Poverty, Malediction, Information, Pathways, and Potential

I can hear him...out there, somewhere. I want nothing more than to rush to his side - to tell him his General has returned. To lay his fears at ease, and deliver him from his pain. To laugh, as we once did as young boys...   Unfortunately, I cannot. A far greater power has called me to service atop this sacred summit, so you must go in my place - you and all the rest.   Find him, Desiderius - and tell my flock to do the same. They must free him if anything remains in him to save.   If indeed nothing remains to save? Then our duty becomes to execute the monster he has become.   In honor of the friend he once was.
The Didact, spoken to his mortal champion after the start of the Age of Godsfall

Artifacts

As Jakobi is a god thoroughly enslaved, imprisoned, and corrupted by Vvaal, The Bound Obliterator, the only "artifacts" known to exist in his possession are rather morbid - as they are in all actuality pieces of his divine body of varying size. These pieces, known as The Holy Corpse Parts or The Holy Sources, are incredibly wellsprings of varying kinds of power - some thrum unendingly with poison, some with curses, some with rare scraps of holy power, while others still bear even more fantastical powers beyond comprehension. These parts, believed to be shaved off Jakobi himself by followers of Vvaal, The Bound Obliterator or especially fanatical followers of Jakobi himself, are the only artifacts in the possession of his faithful.

Holy Books & Codes

Jakobi's teachings are rarely inscribed into actual books, as his followers often either cannot read or lack the ability to buy or maintain books. Instead, his followers take his teachings and memorize them to spread them by word of mouth, or inscribe them on other objects or themselves as words or pictures.   When his followers can aquire it, he has a holy book called "Jakobi's Writ".

Personal history

A Twisted Champion

Jakobi was once the mortal champion for the Minor God The Didact, lauded as the leader of his armies who led with a drive and zeal unmatched by all but the most peerless and radiant of souls. It was he who led the armies of his god during the calamitous time during the end of the Age of Barbarity and The Advent of The Unraveler, leading the forces of good against Hyldrin and all the forces of evil that would seek to destroy it. However, after the battle had ended and Vvaal, The Bound Obliterator broke free of the power of the Divine Trammels which held him, he fell into the hands of Vvaal himself and was corrupted and cursed by The Bound Obliterator into an undying avatar of his unholy might...cursed to lead a tortured existence and warped into a broken, shameful form.   Unable to eat food without it turning to dust, unable to own possessions without them disintigrating, and unable to fight with his crippled form, it is believed that Jakobi, warped into the champion of Vvaal, was sealed away with his corruptor after the end of the Age of Barbarity and the formation of The Divine Gate, his new form that was little more than a mockery of what he once was sealed far away within Corexus, battleground of those final battles. Over time, though, as life moved on and he was forgotten, others neared his cage and supped deep of his mutated flesh, their bodies coming down with the diseases and curses imparted to him by Vvaal himself...inheriting his curses, but coming close enough to listen to his cries and learn of his tenets. Thus was Jakobi's faith born anew...
