Nyfau, The Giantmother
Minor Goddess of Fertility, Love, Knowledge, and Nature
"So...this is what became of you after The Jotunhunts. Reduced to a pale shadow of what you once were...begging for scraps. How pathetic." "..." "Nothing to say, imitator? Words failing you, now that you stand face to face with me? Hmph. How did he ever love something as craven and weak as you?" "..." "Say something, weakling! Or perhaps you'd rather I crush you flat?" "...what is there to say?" "Wha..?" "Your words seem directed more at yourself than at me, Freyja. And many of your criticisms of me, I could level at you just as easily - yet I shall not." "Oh, here we go...more bleeding heart moralist drivel. Has my son gotten to you already?" "No - though I dearly wish my son would get around to visiting, already...it has been some time. No, I have no moralist drivel for you. I merely mean to say this - I understand your pain. It was once my pain too - and still is - so to censure you for it would be in poor taste. I sympathize with you, Freyja. I know your pain in a way no other being can." "..." "Ours is not a unique plight in this cosmos - there is another who knows it. An unknowable creature who become two from one - yin and yang. Two parts of the same whole who sprang from a singular creature who developed two entirely independent personalities that simply could not coexist, and sundered apart." "...you are nothing like me. And he is not my husband." "Perhaps he is not. And perhaps we aren't anything alike - that is much the point, isn't it? You dislike me, Freyja, because in me you see everything you hate - your love, your kindness, all the weaknesses you loathe. In me, you see the heart you left behind - and you are wracked with doubt whether or not your path was the correct one. Whether your vengeance mattered, in the end." "..." "I cannot answer those questions for you. They are yours alone to discover in this world...in that regard, mortals have ever been our superiors. They are born without meaning, and must find it from the very moment they awaken. For us, our meaning is clear, isn't it? We have a purpose, we fulfill that purpose, we please those who follow us - that is our meaning. So, when that is stripped away, it wracks us more deeply than any can imagine. You and I know that keener than most. You stand at a crossroads, Freyja - and while I cannot cross it for you, I can remind you that you do not stand at the precipice alone."Titles: The Giantmother, The Lady of Love, Chooser of the Slain, Mother Nature, The Valkyrie Queen, Bestower of Children, Giver and taker of Knowledge Favored Weapon: Greatclub Alignment: True Neutral Church Moniker: Church of the Giantmother Obedience: Spend an hour in quiet contemplation studying the world around you, thinking on the mysteries of why things are as they are and how they happen. Once the hour is up, give thanks to Nyfau with a prayer and pray that you and/or your tribe are blessed with fertility and childbirth. Effect: If you were previously infertile or incapable of having children yet your species would normally possess such abilities, such capabilities are restored for the next 24 hours after performing this obedience. If you were already fertile, your success rate of having children or giving others children rises drastically. As a free action whenever you bear witness to an ally failing a skill check, you can make that skill a class skill for yourself if it wasn't already and place one rank into it if it has no ranks - though you may only have one skill as a "class skill" with one rank in it in this way at a time. Finally, as a standard action targeting a creature you can see within 30ft, you can force them to succeed at a will save(DC based on your highest mental stat) or be affected by a hasten judgement spell with double the normal duration as you call upon Nyfau's Valkyries to drag the creature to judgement with all due haste should they perish while under its effects.

Artifacts
Rather strangely, despite her status as the eldest god of The Giant Pantheon that remains in her true, original form since the days of The Jotunhunts so long ago, Nyfau is not known to possess any deific artifacts - though none, not even her followers, have ever truly figured out why. Many suspect the hand of Moradin, The Allfather and his faithful in such a thing - likely having destroyed her artifacts during The Jotunhunts and potentially seeking out any new ones she creates in the time since and destroying them.
Whatever the case may be, the truth has yet to be uncovered.

Tenets of Faith
All bodies are beautiful. Never bring shame upon another for their form, and do not hide your own.
Cherish the Wild World. Study nature, recover what it has lost, learn from its mysteries, and protect it as you would your own child.
Do your part. Help bring new life into the world wherever you can via the miracle of childbirth. Do not deny your body its great purpose.
Watch over the young. Allow no harm to come to the unborn or the child, and never raise your hand against one who bears them unless doing so would risk the life of another.
Wait and Contemplate. Ask before acting, that you may understand before doing. Avoid extremes, for nature is built on balance, and help find the common ground of conflicts you encounter.
Love is strength. Detachment is not strength; Seek love, rejoice in folly and whimsy, and open the hearts of the isolated. Let your bonds be your strength, and show the world that there is strength in foolishness.

She's the last living god from the old times...the last reminder of a time when we weren't all savages and tribal barbarians. She's stayed by our sides for eons, even after we've lost so much...so if she believes in us, why the hell can't we believe in us?!
