Coven of Castell
This is said to be the most powerful coven of Khanna priestesses in the world. Not only does the coven serve as the spiritual leaders of the Valley of the Fair's people, but they are sought out by witches from throughout the known world for their advice, wisdom and training. The coven has thirteen permanent members and usually has several temporary members who have come for spiritual education and training.
The coven also acts as the government of the Valley of the Fair and can be expected to turn their power to the defense of the valley in case of any threat. Each of the villages of the valley also has a coven which in turn consults with the Coven of Castell. The system of government is very much based on mutual respect and consensus building.
The Coven meets on a daily basis at the Shrine of Castell where they undertake spiritual activities, make decisions effecting the government of the Valley and receive visitors.
Structure
The Coven is organized like every other Khanna worshipping coven with a Mistress of the Coven taking the leadership role, but with much consultation with the senior members of the group.
Culture
Despite the Valley's relative geographic isolation it's mountaineer culture has cosmopolitan influences from Northrons, Danite, Dark Corgerians and Southrons. This outside influence is especially noticible in the music and food of the valley. Loan words from Northron have heavily influenced the Mountaineer dialect spoken in the Valley.
Public Agenda
To worship the Goddess, protect the Valley and do good works.
Assets
The Shrine of Castell and a modest treasury. The Coven also has a number magical items and artifacts relevant to the worship of the Goddess. The coven also has a religious library kept on the site of the shrine.
