Nornod (NOR-nod)

The Nornod people are a subgroup of the Vrakish, or earth genasi. They are associated only with the Plane of Stone, having their ancestral home in Nornodheim. Some Nornods inhabit other planes, but this is almost always due to forceful displacement or exile from their home plane.
Nornods are typically shorter and stockier than other genasi, ranging from three to six feet tall at the largest. They frequently bear natural cracks and shallow fissures that run through their skin like canyons.
Nornods from the Plane of Stone are a deeply spiritual, superstitious folk that hold strength and wisdom above all other virtues. In Nornodheim, these genasi practice myriad rituals for weather, luck, and burial rites as part of daily life. Due to the events surrounding the War of the Dials, they have a profound distrust of Zivilon and its people for their ancient crime of inciting the first planar war, which ended the protection of the Weak Pact for every creature in Corporeus. Zivilon also took from the Nornods the Ussos Gate, a priceless portal used to transport gargantuan objects through the planes.
