King Laho

King Laho is a ghost smith who serves aboard the Nomad as a deckhand and hermit who teaches the Spirit Forger discipline. As the spirit of a Moku king who once courted the Goddess, he is surprisingly down to earth. He would make an able smith for the crew, if they had a forge on the Nomad, but is also willing to lend his expertise on metullurgy and The Dream World by teaching the Spirit Forger's discipline.   In life, King Laho ruled the Moku people at the height of their civilization. Strong of body and gifted in metullurgy, the Goddess watched over them and took King Laho as her lover, teaching him to forge the spirits themselves. But Laho turned to hubris when he sought to appropriate the stone "armor" other species on his moon used to protect themselves from solar flairs. His forging created the condition Helioschosis, dooming the Moku to turn to stone when in contact with sunlight and regressing their society to tribal nomads. Unlike many, the Moku learned from the universe's punishment. They came to worship the Goddess as a deity of the sun and shunned all technology made by unnatural fires.   He remained as a spirit for hundreds of years in his spirit forge at the top of Mount Laho. The Party found him while seeking out the forge in search of rare ores, where they and Tempi climbed the mountain. King Laho was happy to catch up with his people through their new high priest, and after learning of the Party's heroics saving the Moku and curing Helioschosis, he was happy to come live inside the Nomad's shrine and lend them his expertise.
