The Crimson Reavers

Are a group of outlaws who formed on the outskirts of the town of Sylvanus. They are led by a ranger named Fenric Lightfoot, a master of stealth and subterfuge. His followers were originally a group of outcasts no longer welcome to society. Criminals trying to start a new, the deformed, the crippled, those from disgraced families, and all the outcasts found brotherhood with Fenric. He showed his new brothers a path to stability by attacking the Remens, who had so cruelly cast them out.   The Remens in the nearby town started to send bounty hunters and troops to kill Fenric and find the Crimson Reavers. The Remens were ruthless, and Fenric knew he had to move quickly to keep his brothers in arms from dying. He entered Sylvanus in disguise to find a solution. There, he met a representative of the Tiss. She had a hefty war chest to pay and planned an uprising against the Remens. The Crimson Reavers met with the freedom fighters and formed an alliance. Together, they drove out the Remens from Sylvanas.   The Crimson Reavers and the freedom fighters saw a perfect opportunity to profit and attacked escaping Remen refugees led by Clan Gren. During the ensuing battle, powerful magic overwhelmed all sides, and a swarm of enchanted hornets drove them all out of the forest. After the failed attack, Fenric felt the Crimson Reavers needed to split away from the freedom fighters. The Crimson Reavers needed to find their own path, and the freedom fighters were more focused on governing Sylvanus. To this day, Sylvanus is self-governed by the free people. Sylvanus was welcoming to the Crimson Reavers for the time.   Under Fenric’s leadership, the bandit group began to grow. They found work for a while assisting the Tiss with moving “goods” through Sylvanus to other markets in the surrounding towns. As time passed, some Raven Queen heretics and Oracles began speaking about the Wild Hunt. Fenric took their warnings seriously and was prepared when the Wild hunt occurred. Sylvanus was severely damaged. The Crimson Reaver operation was slowed significantly but not lost. Fenric appointed a leader to operate in Sylvanus, and the bulk of the Crimson Reavers traveled in search of better opportunities. Fenric’s next in command, a Fallen Paladin named Thorgrim, spoke of a secret cult that approached him with work for the Reavers. Perhaps there is a promise that only the future can tell. For now, the Crimson Reavers have relocated to the cities of Skrattafell and Armskirk.   The Crimson Reavers are starting anew as they did with Sylvanus. The search for profit and great opportunity continues.
