Vegas Marius
In the vast territories of the Reman Imperial Republic there emerged a figure of unwavering determination and rigid adherence to Reman principles—Vegas Marius, Commander of the 28th legion in the army of the Senate and People of the Imperial Reman Republic.
Vegas was born into a noble Reman family, his upbringing steeped in the traditions and laws of the Republic. From an early age, he exhibited exceptional martial prowess and a keen strategic mind. His parents, esteemed senators, saw in him the embodiment of Reman virtue, destined for greatness in service to the Republic.
As Vegas ascended through the legion ranks, he found himself at the helm of the 28th legion, entrusted with a critical mission on the Western continent. In the icy expanses north of the Republic, he faced the relentless threat of the Jotun, formidable giants that haunted the frostbitten landscapes. Vegas approached his duty with a singular focus – obey orders, uphold Reman laws, and defend the Republic at all costs.
In his quest against the Jotun, Vegas faced many challenges. Various Dwarf, Human, and Jotun tribes populated these lands, each with their own cultures and traditions, and levels of aggression. Vegas viewed them through the lens of Reman superiority, seeing
these civilizations as in need of guidance to achieve true civilization.
With the notable exception of the Jotun, Vegas did not harbor malicious intentions toward other cultures, he believed that subjugation under the banner of the Reman Republic would elevate them to a higher state of civilization. This perspective, rooted in a sense of duty and Reman exceptionalism, set him on a path that tested not only his mettle on the battlefield but also the limits of his convictions.
As Vegas led the 28th legion through the battles of the north. The trials and conflicts of the north and surviving them led him to believe in the Reman cause even more and it bolstered his belief in their place in this world. He returned from the north even more convinced of the need to bring other cultures and lands into the orderly embrace of the Reman Imperial Republic.
