Illusory
Psionics and Illusions
The Illusory Subclass is the third Subclass of the Corporeal Class of powers. It refers to Empowered whose abilities fall under psionics and illusions, or even being able to displace oneself. This Subclass was proposed by Arthur Craddock and Doctor Moore in 1862, as more reports of Empowered with psionic abilities that did not fit under existing categories fall on their desks. They were able to link them all under one common Subclass, named Illusory as not to be confused with the Psionic Subclass in the Elemental Class.
Empowered with Illusory powers are fairly rare, and make up less than 2% of all active Empowered under the Corporeal Class. The Major and Minor manifestations of this Subclass are listed below:
Teleportation (c. 1862)
Invisibility (c. 1862)
- Intangibility (c. 1862)
Telepathy (c. 1862)
Controversy
Much like the rest of the Corporeal Subclasses, Illusory has met some controversy since its inception. Some believe that most if not all of the Manifestations belong under the Psionic Subclass in the Elemental Class, but others simply critisise the name being misleading. The only true Illusory Subclass would technically be Invisibility, but the name has not officially changed despite disagreements.
