Mazriata (Mah-z-ree-ah-tuh)
The Flag: An angled triangular point of black stabs into the red (representing not only the red surface of Mars, but the blood of those who died in the colonization process) effectively bifurcating the bloody red field and displaying the wounds inflicted upon the Red Planet due to the oppression and evil represented by the black. In the center of the midnight wedge flys the proud golden eagle of Mazriata, with the cross at her chest displaying the core principles and values on which she was founded, showing the willingness to fight even when surrounded by the darkness on all sides.
History
In the confusion that insued after the Great Storm, groups on Mars began to take advantage of the severing of PANGEA influence, quickly dismantling any vestiges which they saw as oppressive and authoritarian. One of these groups fought primarily for religious and political freedom as well as freedom of speech and liberty of association. This great came to call themselves Mazriata, after the last name of their first leader, .
